🌟🌟🌟My All Time Favourite Chinese New Year Snack is Pineapple Tart.  The word "Pineapple" in Chinese dialects such as Hokkien and Cantonese is "Ong Lai" or " Wong Lai".  It is a symbol of "wealth arrives".  So gifting pineapple tarts to family and friends is  beautiful gesture intended to bring about Prosperity for The Year Of The Rabbit.

In my family, it is a tradition that has been passed down through the generations that the women make pineapple tarts every Lunar New Year.  My mother taught me how to make pineapple tart and I will pass on that knowledge to my daughter.  She will in turn pass on the same knowledge to her daughter and so forth. 

Traditions are very much the  fabric of our Chinese Culture and the simple act of just making pineapple tarts to me is honouring the people who have come before us.  It is a circle of life and strengthen our family bonds.

When I  make pineapple tarts, I am filled with lovely memories of my young self playing with the dough and helping my mother form the tarts. 

As we celebrate The Year Of The Rabbit, let's give thanks to our loved ones who are very much an important part of our lives.
