US market on 28 Nov (Mon) - Cont'd Black Fri rally or Worries creep in ?

On Black Friday (25 Nov) where everything is on sale and US market opened only for half the trading day - it could've have been a better combination.

Quick investment for half day and then head out to the Malls for some retail therapy for the rest of the day..

And so it was that consumers have spent a record US$9.12 Billion shopping away - at Bric & mortar stores and Online; on this annual event that has become almost religious. Oops !

Recap of Friday's euphoria :

  • DJIA : +0.45% (+152.97 to 34,347.03)
  • S&P 500 : -0.03% (-1.14 to 4,026.12).
  • Nasdaq : -0.52% (-58.96 to 11, 226.36).

Many analysts "believed" that the positive sentiments would have filtered into Mon's (28 Nov) tradings; had it not been for the news on China's worsening covid infection situation.

True to form, Asia market (including Japan) all took a hammering today 28 Nov (Mon).

Japan / China / HK / Korea / Australia mkts - all closed LOWER

Will US market opens and closes in negative terrority today ?

Looking at the Pre-market indicators and Bitcoin & Ethereum prices traded up to the last hour :

  • The 3 boards will open marginally lower
  • Oil will open lower at -2.83%
  • Bitcoin and Ethereum prices are also marginally lower as well.

It is very likely that U.S. stocks are poised for a lower open.

As mentioned in my Friday (25 Nov) post ;  all the respective reports coming out will be the key to market sentiments' this week.

In particular, the

  • PCE report to be released on Wed (30 Nov) that Fed leans on heavily will be the focus.
  • Employment report to be released on Fri (02 Dec) is another that Fed tracks closely

Any change to the sectors to focus for Q4 2022 and into Year 2023

Based on Yardeni Research Inc:

Consumer Staples sector

Financial sector

Now that market will be dipping today, I will again be monitoring the followings and see if its meant to be :

** Note : If you are interested in SoFi, you will need to pay special attention as the Fintec firm is being investigated for its expansionary program in the digital asset crypto when its supposed to be divesting it.

Will you be alert and seize the day if your stock is at a reasonable price ?

NU Makes money and they can only keep it down so long. Eventually they will have to let it run up were it should be.

NU does not have even a single physical bank-branch. Its a full fletch digital bank.
What this means is NU needs to have a robust banking app that's secure and relatively straight forward to be used by masses. At the same time a strong hotline call centre. Its believed they have them.

Just to add, increasingly alot of the banks' activities have already been automated. Even some straight forward claims processing.
Therefore digital banking is really the next leap for traditional banks as well...
