Tech Giants through simple Technical Review

Last week, a few tech giants released their earnings, notably Meta, Google, Microsoft, Intel, etc... Next week, we will have another few like Amazon and Apple. Meta Meta disappointed investors last Wednesday with forecasts of higher spending and lower-than-expected revenue, raising concerns that rising costs associated with developing artificial intelligence could outweigh its benefits. The company raised its forecast for expenses this year to support investments in new AI products and the computing infrastructure needed to support them, adding that it expected spending would continue to increase next year. For such, I am short and mid term bearish for $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$   stock as investors

AI / semiconductor stocks back to rally?

After over 2 weeks of correction and pullback, AI and semiconductor theme related stocks began to rebound and rally again.  NVIDIA  Nvidia shares rallied back from last week's selloff as some of the chip giant's biggest clients are doubling down on artificial intelligence investments. Nvidia jumped 15% this week and posting its best weekly performance since last May. The surge comes after firms like Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft pledged billions in AI investments. Nvidia daily chart Looking at NVIDIA technically, the share price broke out from the downtrend resistance line last night. The downtrend pattern lasts for over 1 month and is represented by orange line in the chart above. The breakout like this usually signifies a trend reversal and I expect more rally in the share price

We have seen huge rallies in technology-related over the last few months, particularly the AI-related enjoyed the biggest rallies among all the technology-related sectors.  Recently, there's several news of semiconductor companies being awarded grants amounting to billions of US dollars to set up manufacturing plants in US. The key motivation behind the huge generosity from the US government is due to the severe semiconductor supply chain disruption and culmination of years of political wranglin to bolster US competitiveness in the semiconductor industry, which is viewed as essential to national and economic security. Particularly, US semiconductor manufacturing capacity has dropped from nearly 40% of global supply in 19

The Fed is in a lose-lose situation: On one hand you have signs of a slowing economy and consumers are paying historically high interest rates. On the other hand, inflation is rising again and the Fed is risking losing credibility. Meanwhile, US debt nears a record $35 trillion and the US government needs lower rates more than anyone. Not to mention, there's a presidential election months away and credit card debt is above a record $1.1 trillion. All while multiple wars have broken out sending oil prices to $90 and global supply chains are messed up. What would you do if you were the Fed? This is exactly why the Fed continues to take a "meeting by meeting" approach. They cannot commit to a specific path because there are too many variables. The Fed's job is far from done right now.
