My September portfolio performance has been challenging, with many positions in the red. However, today has brought a positive turn for my investments. I'm currently holding positions in Oxy (Occidental Petroleum), RC (Ready Capital), SCHW (Charles Schwab), TLH (Treasury Bonds ETF), TLT (Long-Term Treasury Bonds ETF), and WBA (Walgreens Boots Alliance), and today, they are all showing green across the board! WBA, in particular, has seen a significant price surge, which has boosted my spirits, even though I'm still holding some unrealized losses in a few of these positions. Despite the rough patches earlier this month, I remain optimistic and focused on the long-term potential of my portfolio. Days like today remind me that patience and strategy pay off. Let's go!

TBI's Thoughts [4]: Boeing (NYSE: BA)... A Massive Opportunity?

Hi everyone. Today I’ll be looking at a beleaguered company: The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) BA’s chart is nothing short of phenomenal. It is retesting a 48-year (since 1976) support trendline. The company is facing a raft of issues, including machinist strikes (causing production of Boeing 737, 777 and 767 jets to be halted), production quality and safety issues, as well as mounting debt. If we zoom in on the weekly chart, we can see BA consolidating in a symmetrical triangle pattern with lower highs and higher lows. More recently, it has been moving in a “coiled spring”-type falling wedge pattern as we wait for the machinists to approve a new contract with Boeing. The strikes have proven costly to BA’s valuation as it is expected to cost the company about US$3b, referencing the 2008 strike

Intel has also secured a $3.5 billion government grant to manufacture chips for the U.S. military, another avenue for continued government support to bolster U.S. semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. The biggest news, however, is the rumor that Qualcomm might launch a takeover of Intel. This would make strategic sense, giving Qualcomm a foothold in both the mobile and desktop computing markets. Even so, I believe the foundry business should still be spun off eventually. Separately, Apollo Global Management has expressed interest to invest $5 billion into Intel in exchange for a stake. Intel’s CEO, Pat Gelsinger, is crafting a plan to rescue the company. Intel has announced layoffs of 15% of its workforce and plans to reduce capital expenditures to $21.5 billion by 2025, a 17% decrease

Robotaxi event delayed once. Blackwell chip roll-out delayed too. Which one is a safer bet? I think Nvidia is better. We have more visibilty on what is on offer and why there was a delay. With Robotaxi, it is too opaque. And frankly, Elon Musk is not exactly the most reliable person.

What to Expect from Tesla's Robotaxi Event

As far as moonshots, Jonas advised previously that Tesla could introduce an electric plane concept, electric boat vision, or a demonstration of an Optimus robot flipping burgers at a Tesla Diner. Other Wall Street analysts are also predicting some long-term autonomous concepts will be teased. The other robotaxi players Uber Technologies and Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD Company are preparing to build what appears to be the start of a global robotaxi service. Uber also recently announced that the Uber app will soon offer rides in Waymo's self-driving cars in Austin and Atlanta. WeRide and Uber Technologies also reported a strategic partnership to bring WeRide’s autonomous vehicles onto the Uber platform, beginning in the United Arab Emirates. The partnership is expected to launch first in Abu Dhabi later this year. Uber Technologies also has a multiyear strategic par

As in all of life, Stock Market is not for the faint hearted nor grumblers nor impatient nor fearful.  I see... If a company needs to issue more shares to raise fund for genuine sustainability and growth, I have to accept it even if it means the share price may drop with possible dilution. Instead,  I will buy more if there is a clear growth plan presented.   I should not dread nor grumble, but rather rejoicing the company is growing & one day, we shall reap gains if we weary not. After all why do they public listed it? If they have ample capital, they may as well 100% private own it right?  Contrary, good news may not necessarily causes a rally, or bad news leads to price drop.   But one thing for sure, I am not impresse

$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$   Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's comments on AR glasses 👓 and smartphones 📱 in the Verge interview were quite intriguing which I expect will pan out over the next decade or so: "It’s not like we’re going to throw away our phones, but I think what’s going to happen is that, slowly, we’re just going to start doing more things with our glasses and leaving our phones in our pockets more. It’s not like we’re done with our computers, and I don’t think we’re going to be done with our phones for a while, but there’s a pretty clear path where you’re just going to use your glasses for more and more things. Over the last 15 years, there were only 2 times when the market performed better: the 2010 and 2021 bull markets. This was when stocks experienced a historic recovery from the 2008 Financial Crisis and the 2020 pandemic crash. In 2021, the S&P 500 recorded 70 new all-time highs, the most since 1995. This year, the index has hit 42 records year-to-date and is on track for the second-best streak since 2017. Truly historic.

September is a Blessing for me, not a Curse as my 3 ETFs are up!

🌟🌟🌟Historically the month of September has earned the title of the worst performing month for stocks but not this September for me.  My  Index ETFs from 3 different markets are up : SPTM  from the US $SPDR Portfolio S&P 1500 Composite Stock Market ETF(SPTM)$ Straits Times Index from Singapore $STI ETF(ES3.SI)$  and KWEB from China  $KraneShares CSI China Internet ETF(KWEB)$   are all up! SPTM seeks to track the total return performance of the S&P Composite 1500 Index.  This Index represents approximately 90% of the investable US stock market.
September is a Blessing for me, not a Curse as my 3 ETFs are up!
TOPKienBoon: 4.38% div from the STI ETF seems very good. Has it been consistent payout for the past few years ? Should we buy some STI ETF currently ? Is it a bit too late in terms of the ETF price ?

Considering the Chinese market's volatility and current economic conditions, it's essential to weigh your options carefully. The Chinese government's efforts to stimulate the economy, such as cutting the reserve requirement ratio and tax rates, may not be enough to turn things around . China's economy is facing significant challenges, including a slowdown and unprecedented debt buildup. It's crucial to understand that shorting the Chinese market comes with risks. The Chinese government may implement policies to stabilize the economy, and the market can be unpredictable. Alternatively, some experts believe that China's equity markets are transitioning from beta-driven to alpha-rich, making it an attractive opportunity for long/short investing . This approach involves taking long positions i
