20 Dec Market Rebound After Week Of Sharp Declines
We saw the stock market rebounded on last Friday (20 Dec) after a week of sharp declines. The U.S. major indices ended the trading session above 1% due to above-average volume due to quarterly options/futures expiration. Despite Friday's gains, indices experienced weekly losses ranging from 1.8% to 4.5% compared to the previous week Friday's close. In the Dow, 23 out of 30 components ended in the green, led by NVIDIA (NVDA) up 3.1%, and UnitedHealth (UNH) up 2.2%. NIKE (NKE) down $0.16 or 0.2%, after disappointing fiscal Q3 revenue guidance. NU Expands Overseas, Invests in Unicorn.
Consolidation Rally. Just when other US stocks are on a rage, charting new ATHs almost on a daily basis, one of my favourite stocks $Nu Holdings Ltd.(NU)$ undergone a consolidation instead. On Mon, 16 Dec 2024, it fell further by -1.68%, closing at $11.74. (see below) On Tue, 17 Dec 2024, it rose marginally by +0.86% to close at $11.70. On Wed, 18 Dec 2024, it ‘crashed’ by -10.19% to close at $10.40. Worst fall in a very long time. On Thu, 19 Dec 2024, it fell again by -3.28% to close at $10.33.
