Trumph impact? Meme of the year?[Gosh] [Gosh] [Gosh]
DWAC undoubtedly was an excellent speculative investment for those who bought shares at the lows. For someone holding shares on January 1, 2024, year-to-date returns have been as high as 190%, which even beats market darlings such as Nvidia.
That being said, it is far from certain that DWAC (or, starting from Tuesday, DJT) will continue to outperform the market. Speculation could drive shares even higher, but until Truth Social shows resilient user growth and improving financial results, those gains would be speculation-driven.
The effort to combine the two companies, trade under the ticker symbol DJT—under one banner has finally proven effective. Trump himself is about to own 80 million shares of the newly aligned company, which will boost his fortunes by several billion dollars. This comes at a good time as he has a campaign to run and arrayed against him.
While his ability to access that cash may be in question, a lockup period is likely following the deal’s completion. There are potential workarounds that may free up at least some of those resources for immediate use.
I believe current spike is due to FOMO and meme effect for DJT. After the frenzy period is over, the share price will pull back extremely fierce, leaving all the retailer being trapped at peak area. Unless the fundamental and company performance is good and exceeded expectation, then only such high price can be reasonable. Therefore, think twice before you trade as the risk is very high. Short term trade is ok if you are skillful enough. I will stay aside and just watch the show! Do remember how the meme stocks after the frenzy was over $GameStop(GME)$ $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$
