🌟🌟🌟I cannot imagine a world without Google, DBS and Sheng Siong, which provide me with conveniences  for my daily life.  Coincidentally I have also invested in them since I use their products every day! 

First up it is $Sheng Siong(OV8.SI)$  It is Singapore's 3rd largest chain of supermarkets which provide me with day to day essentials.  Sheng Siong is synonymous with offering value for money for its grocery items.  It is my mother's absolute favourite supermarket too.   

Sheng Siong has a wide moat due to its extensive distribution network and large number of outlets.    For Q3 FY 2024, Sheng Siong Group 's net profit increased 12.4% to SGD 39.1 million.  Its revenue rose 5% to SGD 363.2 million.  This can be attributed to new store openings and improvement in comparable same store sales.  Gross profit margin rose 1% to 31.3% due to better product mix. 

Sheng Siong plans to operate the newly acquired Toa Payoh store by year end and has another 4 tenders for new stores pending results. 

Performance wise, Sheng Siong recently reached its 52 week high of SGD 1.68.    Sheng Siong also pays dividends twice a year in May and August.  The current dividend yield is 3.9%.

The 2nd company that I cannot live without is DBS $DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$ .  It is the largest bank not only in Singapore but in South East Asia as well.  I am a long term customer of DBS, having started saving with DBS when I was just a school girl. 

DBS provides me with great banking services from credit card, home loans as well as my day to day banking needs.  If I need cash, DBS ' ATM machines are located island wide.  

I am also a long term investor of DBS and it has rewarded me well with nice juicy dividends every 3 months.   The current dividend yield is 4.83%.

DBS has also reached its All time high of SGD 44.95 recently.  This is due to its excellent Q3 24 Earnings. 

For the quarter DBS Net Profit crossed SGD 3 billion for the first time, rising 15% from a year ago and 8% from the previous quarter.  Total income rose 11% from a year ago and 5% from the previous quarter to SGD 5.75 billion.  These increases were driven by balance sheet growth, record fee income led by wealth management, higher treasury customer sales and the strongest market trading income in 10 quarters.  The cost to income ratio was 39%.

Asset quality continued to be resilient with the Non Performing Loan ratio declining to 1%.

DBS has received numerous awards over the years.  It has won the World's Best Bank by Euromoney among its many awards.  

The 3rd company I cannot live without is $Alphabet(GOOGL)$  I use Google's search engine umpteen times a day.  I also use its Android operating system on my mobile phone. I watch Google's YouTube and use its Gmail to communicate with people very frequently. 

Google's share price has been on a tear recently with it reaching its All Time High at USD 195.61.  This is due to the announcement of its special chip Willow, which is a game changer in Quantum Computing.  Willow performed a very difficult computation in under 5 minutes that would normally take a supercomputer 10 Septillion years.  That is a number 1 followed by 24 zeros!  

Willow 's amazing performance is a big step towards building very large quantum computers.  Quantum computing is derived from quantum physics and it can help in advanced AI machine learning. 

Bring a regular user of Google, DBS and Sheng Siong gives me an added insight into what these 3 Companies do.    That is why I invest in them and so far, it has been a rewarding experience. 

Warren Buffett likes to say that the key to investing is determining a company's competitive advantage and how durable it is. 

All 3 Companies Google, DBS and Sheng Siong offer services which I use daily, fulfil that criteria. 

Google, DBS and Sheng Siong are essential to my day to day living and I cannot live without them.
