I've recently started to DCA into EQT Corporation because I believe it sits right at the intersection of three massive long-term themes: AI power demand, the global energy reshuffling after the Middle East disruptions, and the positioning of some of the smartest institutional capital in the market today. What caught my attention was not just the stock itself, but how multiple independent research paths all converged toward the same conclusion — that natural gas may become one of the most critical bottlenecks of the AI era.

The first reason is the AI electricity story. Over the past year, the market focused heavily on GPUs, memory, and AI infrastructure names, but increasingly the conversation has shifted toward one unavoidable question: where will the power come from? Large-scale nuclear projects take too long, renewables alone cannot provide stable baseload supply, and small modular reactors are still years away from meaningful deployment. For the next 5 years, natural gas appears to be the only scalable and realistic bridge solution for powering AI data centers at speed. That immediately puts EQT in a very strategic position as one of the largest natural gas producers in the United States.

The second reason is EQT's unique positioning within the U.S. energy system. Unlike many producers, EQT is vertically integrated after acquiring Equitrans Midstream, giving it direct control over pipelines and transportation infrastructure. Its Marcellus assets are also geographically close to some of the most important AI and data center corridors in the eastern United States. Projects such as Homer City and the ongoing pipeline expansions reinforce the idea that EQT is not simply selling gas into commodity markets — it is increasingly becoming part of the physical backbone supporting the AI economy.

The third reason is what I would call the "smart money confirmation." I've been closely following the positioning of funds connected to the Situational Awareness thesis, especially the framework built around AI infrastructure bottlenecks and energy constraints. What stood out to me is that EQT has been one of the few positions consistently accumulated across multiple quarters, even while much of the market remained focused on higher-profile AI names. The pattern resembles previous successful positioning in power, fuel cells, and AI infrastructure plays — catalysts were already happening, but the broader market narrative had not fully repriced the stock yet.

Of course, I understand EQT is not risk-free. Natural gas prices remain cyclical, infrastructure approvals can face delays, and energy markets are always tied to geopolitics. That is exactly why I prefer to DCA gradually rather than chase momentum. For me, EQT is not just an energy trade — it is a long-duration positioning on the idea that AI's next bottleneck will not be chips alone, but reliable electricity supply, and natural gas is likely to remain the bridge fuel powering that transition.

As a retail investor, I focus mainly on the US and Singapore markets, combining a mix of technical trading and long-term investing strategies. I enjoy analyzing charts, spotting patterns, and making calculated moves based on both market sentiment and fundamentals. While I'm not a professional, I treat my portfolio seriously and continue to learn and grow with each trade.
