      My investing muse - CPI, bank and AI

      @KYHBKO
      My investing muse - CPI, bank and AI The earnings of the Big 3 banks (JP Morgan, Citibank & Wells Fargo) came out to be better than expected. It gave a strong start to the earnings season. However, the Big 3 banks have benefited as consumers moved their deposits out of smaller/regional banks. Most of these have ended up with the Big 4 (including Bank of America). The banking crisis is yet over. With the latest interest rate hike, the banking sector would have incurred more unrealized losses to their long-term assets like bonds and treasuries. Though these could be held on till maturity but these would also be one of the first assets to be liquidated in event of a bank run. CPI came out to be much lesser than anticipated. The market breathed a sigh of relief with YoY falling from 6.0% l

      Preview of the week starting 17 April 2023 - Tesla's Q1/2023 earnings is coming

      @KYHBKO
      Public Holidays Nil Economic Calendar (17 Apr 2023) This was the update from the week ending 14 Apr 2023: The biggest good news is CPI dropped YoY from 6.0% previous month to 5.0% (much lesser than the 5.2% estimate) PPI came out to be -0.5% compared to 0.1%. This is the inflation that hits producers first (before being passed downstream to the consumers seen in CPI). This implies that there is a chance for some components of CPI to be lowered in the coming update. Crude Oil Inventories ended with an excess of 0.597M compared to an expected drawdown of 0.583M. This implies that the demand looks to be weaker than expected. Initial Jobless Claims came out higher (239K compared to the expected 232K). There is more unemployment than expected. Retail Sales came out to be more disappointing t

      What to focus in Mar. CPI? Will core CPI go up?

      @Tiger_comments
      As the market digests the non-farm payrolls report last Friday, the US dollar index $Invesco DB US Dollar Index Bullish Fund(UUP)$ rose by nearly 0.6% on Monday.Institutions predict that the March CPI will drop significantly from 6% to 5.2%. However, the core CPI, which excludes energy and food prices, is expected to grow 5.6% YoY, an increase from the previous month, and could serve as a basis for further rate hikes by the FOMC.Here's what to expect compared to the prior month's reading:1. What to focus in March CPI?1) Housing costsThe housing costs (rental prices), an important driver of inflation in recent months, may reverse downward. Powell previously stated that housing costs are expected to show a turning point in the second half of the year

      IFRX Trade Good 18% Gain Price/Volume Action + Bull/Bear Strength

      @nerdbull1669
      Please find and follow my YT channel (nerdbull1669) for Daily SG and US Stock Watchlist. Do follow me as I share quality stock pick for Daily Watchlist. NASDAQ index was in the RED when A.I. model has predicted $InflaRx N.V.(IFRX)$ as a BUY signal with a pretty good score. I told myself to monitor the market for the 1st hour of trading first. Around 18% gain for IFRX. IFRX Price and Volume Movement I was monitoring the price movement of IFRX, it was having a more than 20% gain the previous trading day, so there are chances that there might be a gap down happening also. So I decided to monitor the price movement and volume from 9.30 to 10.30, and it did hit high at $7.25. But eventually went down, as investors from previous trading day took profi

      Q12023: The 20 Most Profitable Companies in the World

      @MillionaireTiger
      The survival and development of a company are based on profitability as the primary condition. There are two important indicators to understand profitability.The first is gross margin.Gross margin is a direct reflection of the relationship between a company's selling price and its cost of sales, and does not take into account other factors that may affect profitability, so this indicator is a more intuitive reflection of the competitiveness of the company's products.The second one is EBITDA.EBIT is used to measure the profitability of a company's main business, while EBITDA is used to measure the ability of a company to generate cash flow from its main business. More and more investors are focusing on EBIT and EBITDA instead of net income because it is simply a measure of net income, while
