IBM’s 25% Collapse: A Broken AI Story…or the Start of a Major Market Rotation?

A 25% fall in a company like IBM is not an ordinary earnings reaction. It is the market suddenly questioning an entire investment story. IBM’s preliminary second-quarter revenue came in at approximately $17.2 billion, up only 1% year over year and below expectations of around $17.86 billion. Adjusted earnings of $2.93 per share also fell slightly short of forecasts. But the numbers alone do not fully explain such a violent sell-off. The greater concern was the message behind them. IBM said customers had prioritised spending on servers, storage and memory amid supply constraints and anticipated price increases. That redirected technology budgets away from some software and infrastructure purchases. Management also acknowledged execution failures. Several significant deals did not close as e

🍎 Apple at Record Highs: Breakout or Expectations Getting Too High? Apple has surged to a fresh record high, with the stock gaining around 4% in one session and approaching a $5 trillion valuation. The move appears to reflect renewed confidence that Apple may finally be turning its enormous installed user base into a meaningful AI growth story. The question is no longer whether Apple is a great company. The question is whether the share price is now expecting too much, too quickly. 🟢 The Bull Case 1. Apple may finally have a clearer AI pathway Apple has reportedly received regulatory approval relating to its generative-AI technology in China, potentially allowing Apple Intelligence and future Siri upgrades to reach one of its most important markets. That could strengthen demand for newer d

🚖 Tesla Reclaims $400: Is the Robotaxi Era Finally Here? Tesla has once again captured Wall Street’s attention, climbing back above the psychologically important $400 level following the launch of its Robotaxi service in Miami. For years, Elon Musk has promised that autonomous driving would become Tesla’s biggest value driver. Investors have heard the story before—but this time feels different because there is finally a real-world rollout. ⸻ 📈 What Happened? Tesla shares rallied after news that its Robotaxi service officially began operating in Miami. Rather than another software update or ambitious announcement, this represents one of Tesla’s first large-scale commercial deployments of autonomous ride-hailing technology. Markets reacted positively because investors see Robotaxi as a poten

📉 Nvidia is looking much more attractive, but I’m still watching whether earnings continue to justify the AI investment. Great companies can still disappoint if expectations get too far ahead of reality. Curious what everyone else is doing here buying, holding, or waiting?

📉 Market rotation has been the biggest talking point lately. I'm loving reading other people's thoughts and what their plans are forward. For years it felt like you just had to own big tech, but now we're seeing money flow into other sectors. I'm not however fully convinced this is the end of the Mag 7. If earnings stay strong, this could simply be a healthier market rather than a weaker one. As a newer investor that's been learning for years now before I go big, I'm trying to focus less on predicting the next headline and more on staying diversified and patient. Do you think this is a temporary rotation or the start of a bigger shift? love to hear your thoughts!  Adz

Is the Market Rotation Away From Tech Creating an Opportunity? 🤔📈

Technology stocks have dominated market conversations for years. Artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cloud computing and the largest technology companies have attracted enormous attention and capital. 🤖💻 But markets rarely move in one direction forever. When leadership begins to broaden and money starts flowing into other parts of the market, it raises an interesting question: is this simply a temporary rotation, or are new opportunities beginning to emerge beyond tech? 👀 Looking Beyond the Biggest Winners 🔎 The strength of the technology sector has been difficult to ignore. AI enthusiasm and strong earnings growth have helped push some technology companies to remarkable valuations. That does not necessarily mean the technology story is over. However, I think there is a difference bet

$AMD - CHASE, HOLD OR WAIT? 👀 AMD’s latest move has caught plenty of attention, but I think the bigger question is what happens from here. The bull case is easy to understand: AI accelerator growth, a huge data-centre opportunity, long-term AI demand and the potential for AMD to keep taking a larger share of a rapidly growing market. But there’s another side too. Expectations are high, competition is fierce, and after strong momentum, chasing price can be very different from investing in the business. I’m personally bullish on AMD long term and already hold a small position. My approach from here is simple: build gradually, add with discipline and avoid making emotional decisions based on one big green or red day. I’m still learning and building my portfolio, but one lesson I’m already tak
