🌟🌟🌟EV stocks are rather volatile.  What if you can combine the best EV stocks into 1 ETF?  Presenting $iShares Self-Driving EV and Tech ETF(IDRV)$ which tracks a market cap selected and weighted index of stocks related to self driving vehicles. 

IDRV focuses on companies that produces autonomous driving vehicles, electric vehicles, batteries for electric vehicles or technologies related to such products.   IDRV includes stocks from both developed and emerging economies as well as companies of all market cap sizes.

The Top 10 holdings include Schneider Electric, Volkswagen, ABB, Renault, Porsche, Pilbara Minerals, Denso Corp, Rivian, LG Energy and BYD.

Not in the Top 10  but included in the Top 20 of  the ETF are Samsung SDI, $NIO Inc.(NIO)$  $Li Auto(LI)$  Lucid Group, $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$   and $XPeng Inc.(XPEV)$ 

The Top 10 weightage is 43%.  Total number of holdings is 58.

Country Allocation : US is 30.7%, Hong Kong is 20.7%, South Korea is 11%, Germany is 9%, France is 8%, Australia is 4%, Japan is 4%, Switzerland is 4%, Sweden is 3% and Netherlands is 1.6%.

The expense ratio is 0.47%.  Distributions are paid every 6 months.  The current Distribution yield is 2.46%.  IDRV goes ex dividend on June 11 2024.

The Fund Manager is BlackRock, the world's largest fund manager and IDRV has USD 272.8 million of Assets Under Management.  The Inception date is April 16 2019.

Performance wise, IDRV is down 1.3% for the past 5 days and 9.7% year todate.  In the past year IDRV is down 13%.  However since inception 5 years ago, IDRV is up 21%.

Even though there is tough competition in the EV sector, IDRV is poised for a rebound as the uptake of EV vehicles will continue to increase  over  internal combustion engine vehicles in the future. In 2024 the revenue in the EV market is projected to reach a staggering USD 623.3 billion worldwide.  This growth will ultimately lead to a projected market volume of USD 906.7 billion by 2028. 

I like IDRV as it offers excellent value for money and a great diversification of stocks relating to the EV industry globally.   IDRV also minimises my risk in investing in single stocks.

A good example is Tesla as it is currently down 31% year todate and Rivian which is down 48% year todate.  With IDRV ETF, I do not have to suffer the anxiety if I have invested individually in these stocks.  

I believe that IDRV is currently undervalued and have lots of upside potential ahead as the world transition from fossil fuel to green energy.   The best time to invest in IDRV is NOW when it is undervalued to reap the rewards in the future.
