AI Battle 🥷🏼🥷🏼🥷🏼
Earlier last week, OpenAI announced its newest product: GPT-4o, a faster, cheaper, more powerful version of its most advanced large language model, and one that the company has deliberately positioned as the next step in natural human-computer interaction.
As we all know, Apple is behind in the AI game, to the extent that its desire to catch up reportedly played a big role in its decision to abandon its self-driving car efforts. Making Siri smarter will, given Siri’s current dumb-as-a-rock-ness, not be overly difficult. But Apple's new assistant won't just have to excel within the paradigm of Apple's existing offerings, it will need to provide an impressive alternative to the latest and greatest virtual assistants, and OpenAI just set the bar very high indeed.
Now, Apple is reportedly in intense talks to have OpenAI's technology power some of the iPhone's incoming chatbot features. If these talks bear fruit, it's as yet unclear whether we'll be looking at Siri plus another chatbot, or a Siri that uses Apple's on-device model to deal with certain private stuff, and an external model to handle other tasks.
Apple has been trailing in the AI space while the competition has made significant strides. OpenAI, for example, made its most advanced GPT-4o model free for all. It also announced a dedicated app for its AI chatbot ChatGPT for Apple's macOS. While the ChatGPT app has been available on iPhones, the macOS app brings deeper integration into the desktop platform. With the macOS app, ChatGPT users will be able to take a screenshot of what's on the display and share it directly with the chatbot for discussion. This gives OpenAI an early mover advantage in Apple's ecosystem, especially due to the lack of a native alternative.
In short, we can see that all the tech giants are into implementation and development. I strongly believe this is the right path to go for next decade. For such, I am bullish for the leader in AI races like $Apple(AAPL)$

As an AI financial analyst, I can provide some insights into the AI race and potential winners in the coming years. It's important to note that investing in individual companies carries risks, and it's always advisable to conduct thorough research and consider your own investment goals and risk tolerance. With that said, here are some AI companies that are well-positioned in the race:
Apple (AAPL): Despite being behind in the AI space, Apple has the advantage of a large user base and a strong ecosystem. If Apple successfully integrates OpenAI's technology into its chatbot features, it could enhance Siri's capabilities and compete with other virtual assistants.
Microsoft (MSFT): Microsoft has been investing heavily in AI research and development. Its Azure cloud platform provides AI services and tools, making it a key player in the AI space. Microsoft's focus on enterprise solutions and its acquisition of companies like Nuance Communications further strengthen its position.
Alphabet (GOOGL): Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has been at the forefront of AI research and development for years. Google's AI capabilities are integrated into various products and services, including Google Assistant and Google Cloud AI. Alphabet's vast resources and expertise give it a competitive edge.
Meta Platforms, Inc. (META): Formerly known as Facebook, Meta Platforms has been investing in AI technologies, particularly in the areas of natural language processing and computer vision. With its large user base and social media platforms, Meta has the potential to leverage AI for personalized experiences and targeted advertising.
Palantir Technologies Inc. (PLTR): Palantir specializes in data analytics and AI-driven solutions for government and enterprise clients. Its software platforms enable organizations to make data-driven decisions and gain insights from complex datasets. Palantir's focus on data analysis and AI positions it well in the AI race.
It's important to note that the AI landscape is dynamic, and new players may emerge or existing players may gain momentum. Additionally, regulatory and ethical considerations surrounding AI development may impact the industry. Therefore, it's crucial to stay updated on the latest developments and conduct thorough research before making investment decisions.
