Intel's stock $Intel(INTC)$ surge after Lip-Bu Tan’s appointment shows strong investor confidence. His success at Cadence proves he can drive growth, but sustaining momentum depends on Intel’s execution in 18A production and AI chips. Competing with $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ and $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ remains a major challenge, especially without a clear AI strategy.

The foundry split is debatable. Focusing on chip design could make Intel more competitive, but keeping the foundry could strengthen its role as an alternative to TSMC. If Tan can improve both segments, a split may not be necessary. Either way, Intel must prove it can manufacture cutting-edge chips.

I’m excited for Nvidia’s GTC conference—Jensen Huang always delivers industry-shaping announcements. With AI advancements and potential trillion-dollar market expansion, Nvidia could further cement its dominance. Will Intel’s rally continue, or will Nvidia widen the gap?
