Although I stopped investing in $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFAI)$, I still looked into it once in a while.

Still, I am amazed by its progression ability.

I have regarded FFAI as a "cockroach stock".

In a perverse way, it is a compliment.

This is because despite repeated financial crises and operational setbacks, it survives against all odds.

Below is what I mean.

Historical Resilience: A Timeline of Survival

(1) Financial Struggles and Leadership Turmoil:

• Since its founding in 2014, Faraday Future has faced severe financial difficulties, including unpaid debts, layoffs, and leadership changes.

• Founder Jia Yueting's personal bankruptcy in October 2019 further complicated matters, yet the company managed to secure funding and continue operations.

(2) Production Delays and Minimal Deliveries:

• Despite launching its flagship FF 91 Futurist in 2023, Faraday Future delivered only 16 EVs by early 2025.

• It even pivoted to selling rebadged Chinese vans in late 2024 to sustain operations.

(3) Repeated Fundraising Success:

• Over the past 7 months, Faraday Future has raised over $100 million in funding across three rounds, including the most recent $41 million commitment on 24 March 2025. (see below)

• The funds secured are being used to (a) advance AI initiatives and (b) develop the FX series vehicles.

(4) Strategic Rebranding:

• The company's recent ticker change to "FFAI" from “FFIE” and its focus on AI-driven innovation reflect an attempt to rebrand itself as a tech-forward mobility company, despite its troubled past.

It's a Cockroach Stock becos:

(1) Persistent Fundraising:

• Faraday Future has consistently managed to attract new investors despite its poor financial track record and minimal product output.

(2) Adaptability:

• The company has shifted strategies multiple times, from high-end EVs to rebadged vans and now AI-focused mobility solutions, just to stay afloat.

(3) Market Speculation:

• It has occasionally benefited from meme stock trends, such as the short squeeze in May 2024, which provided temporary boosts to its stock price. (see below)

Future Prospects

Future of FFAI remains uncertain in the face of :

(1) Challenges:

• Its history of overpromising & underdelivering raises doubts about whether it can meet its ambitious AI and FX vehicle goals.

• The EV market is highly competitive, with established players $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ and $Rivian Automotive, Inc.(RIVN)$ dominating US (local) market and $BYD Co., Ltd.(BYDDY)$ worldwide market.

(2) Opportunities:

• If Faraday Future successfully leverages AI to differentiate its products, it could carve out a niche in intelligent mobility.

• Continued investor interest suggests some have been “bought” into its long-term vision.

Investment Outlook

Investing in FFAI is speculative at best.

While the company has shown remarkable resilience, its history of financial instability and limited product success make it a high-risk bet.

Potential investors should approach it with lots of caution, keeping in mind that any returns would likely hinge on Faraday Future's ability to execute its AI-driven strategy effectively.

If only FFAI focus & deliver its world-class specs EVs and ramp up production, it could’ve given Tesla a run for its money. It’s a pity that FFAI chose to play hide & seek instead.
