Nancy Pelosi has just left Taiwan after a whirlwind visit that rocked US and China relations and sent shudders through the global markets.
In response to the visit, China has announced live fire military exercises across the waters surrounding Taiwan. It has also banned the import of Taiwanese food imports and halted exports of sand to Taiwan.
It remains to be seen whether there will be further repercussions. However today it is business as usual in the US and the markets closed higher after fresh earnings reports and positive economic data.
Will Tencent and Alibaba be delisted? I don't think so. I believe it is in the interest of both China and the US to continue their dialogue to repair and cooperate. Both countries have much to gain from a better cohesive partnership than a warring one.
If the market on Tencent and Alibaba dips further, I stand ready to buy these 2 phenomenal stocks as they are the powerhouse of the future.
