To The Moon

it is very important to have a strategy when investing. the goal is to accumulate wealth. hence, you have to find the elevator that goes up. my favorite chart for analysis is the pnf chart - point and figure chart. looks like elevators going up and down. crosses x for up and circles o for down. this is for the micro analysis.

for the macro analysis, my favorite is inter market analysis. for example how$FTSE 100(.UKX.UK)$   leads the us market $S&P 500(.SPX)$ 

another one is how interest rates $US2Y(US2Y.BOND)$   affects stock prices, how currencies affect stock prices, etc. 

we all know the stock prices move in wave like patterns, so you have to know the mother of all wave theories, the dow theory. when the stock price is making new highs, it is trending up and when the stock price is making new lows it is trending down. 

the two micro and macro analysis coupled with news are essential to find the elevator that goes up. 

for me, i don't look for huge gains, i prefer to apply automatic investment system where you take profit at 10% intervals or at resistance zones if you know technical analysis. this way you have capital to buy the dip. conversely, you add shares at each 10% drop or at support zones if you know technical analysis. this way you conserve your capital while the stock is strongly downtrending. 

during bear markets, i only invest with my profits. during bull markets, i open up my warchest. but i will only invest a maximum of 80%. this is to account for black swan events that may wipe out all your investments.
