🌟🌟🌟It's Melbourne Cup Day in Australia!  The Race That Stops The Nation!  It is also RBA Day when Dr Philip Lowe will give his decision on the Australia 's next interest rate rise.  Will it be 50 basis points or 25 basis points? 

The economists are predicting a 50 basis points increase as Australia' s 3Q inflation rate has edged upwards to 7.3% compared to 6.1% last quarter. 

Already property prices have dropped but still above pre pandemic highs.  The Australian stock market will also be impacted as rising interest rates have a negative impact on shares. 

The Big 4 Australian Banks are set to benefit with the increase in net interest income.  They will be passing on the interest rate rise to homeowners. 

Hopefully after this rate rise, the RBA will slow down the increase of interest rates to give some breathing space for the effects to take action.  After all inflation rates are lagging indicators.

Let's hope for the best but prepare for the worse.  If there is sell off in the Australian stock markets, it is a great time to pick quality stocks like CBA, BHP, Wesfarmers and Woolworths to hold for long term.  At least we can receive dividends in market sell offs but from horses, we get zilch😁😁😁.
