Two months down and ten to go. As I wave goodbye to February and look forward to March 2024, I cannot help but wonder what’s gonna be in-stored for me, with one foot firmly jammed in the door. Recap. Now, more than ever, need to take stock of where we are, in order to have a rough inking of what is ahead, waiting for us. (1) Inflation - CPI & PCE. On 13 Feb 2024, US’s January 2024 consumer price index (CPI) came in at 3.1% versus market estimates of 2.9%. (see above) The hotter-than-expected data unsettled markets and further adjusted the expected start point to Federal Reserve rate cuts. The saving grace was January 2024 inflation data was still lower than December 2023 (3.4%). On 29 Feb 2024, thankfully January 2024 personal consumption expenditure (PCE) met market estimates of 2.8%,

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (BS6) Strong Potential After Earnings
We have seen $YZJ Shipbldg SGD(BS6.SI)$ having a good week, with its share price rose 3.6% to close at $1.75 after their annual results release. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) reported CN¥24b in revenue, roughly in line with analyst forecasts, although statutory earnings per share (EPS) of CN¥1.04 beat expectations, being 8.4% higher than what the analysts expected. From looking at how YZJ have traded from technical analysis, we could see that they have been trading above the 50 day MA period for more than 50 trading sessions, with the 8.4% estimate beat in earnings. I closed $IWM 20240315 185.0 PUT$ ,IWM: closed these cash secured puts 2 weeks ahead of expiry after securing 90% of profits. In total, collected 0.95% premium over a period of 23 days. Currently IWM is reaching a double top scenario at $205 and became resistance so I think it’s prudent to close the trade and secure the profits. Will look for rotation down for future trades.

I closed $SMCI STRANGLE 240301 CALL 1010.0/PUT 710.0$ ,SMCI: closed this sold strangle options Strategy with 98% of the maximum premium possible. Options might expire worthless in few hours, but given such volatile stocks, one will not know if there will be some late push to any of the strike price directions. In total, collected $1850 for 8.5 days of contract which will go towards to salvage the short losses on SMCI. SMCI continue its 2nd day of bullishness after 4 days of consolidating lower. Insiders are negative selling more shares than they are buying in Apple In the last 100 trades there were 2.29 million shares bought and 3.43 million shares sold. The last trade was made 29 days ago by Wagner Susan who bough 1.85 thousand shares. In general the insiders are selling more stocks than they buy. In general it can be considered as a negative signal. With diminishing sales in iphone15 in China I have lost confidence in AAPL and wouldn't consider it a buy until it hits $146.
