After GTC, the AI pioneer Jensen Huang and his associates have attracted significant attention from investors. Given the productivity transformation brought about by AI over the past year, and the notable performance of concept stocks like NVIDIA and AMD, semiconductor stocks have become highly sought after in global capital markets.
Aside from well-known giants in the industry, are you aware of other semiconductor stocks and related investment strategies?
Below are some insights from Tiger @nerdbull1669, @TBITrades and @Jo Ker . Which opinions do you agree with?

1. @nerdbull1669: Discrete Semiconductor Stocks Potential Amidst AI Revolution
Key Points:
I would like to share 2 discrete semiconductor stocks which seem to be underperforming, and they are kind of boring, so most investors would not have them in their watchlist. But there are signals that they are coming up.
On Feb. 7, 2024, Vishay reported an EPS of 37 cents, beating consensus estimates of 36 cents by a penny. Revenues fell 8.2% YoY to $785.24 million versus $787.15 million. The book-to-bill ratio was 0.75, with the end of the quarter backlog of 5.3 months. The company expected Q1 2024 revenues between $715 million to $755 million versus $795.1 million.
If we looked at how Vishay has gathered much buying sentiment in recent weeks, we could be seeing more upside, and I would consider its current stock price to be cheap.
STM reported Q4 2023 EPS of $1.14, beating consensus analyst estimates of 95 cents by 19 cents. Revenues fell 3.2% YoY to $4.28 billion versus $4.31 billion. The gross margin was 45.5%, and the operating margin was 23.9% on a net income of $1.08 billion. Full-year 2023 net revenues were $17.29 billion with a gross margin of 47.9% and an operating margin of 26.7% on a net income of $4.21 billion.
STM issued downside guidance for Q1 2024 revenues of $3.6 billion versus $4.08 billion consensus estimates. Gross margin is expected around 42.3% plus or minus 200 basis points. Full year 2024 revenues are expected between $15.9 billion to $16.9 million versus $17.29 billion consensus estimates with gross margin in the low to mid 40% range.
Here we could see that STM is currently trending lower and there have been more selling than buying, but I would think if the demand for discrete chip goes up, STM should benefit from it.
2. @TBITrades: My Watchlist [78]: MRVL... Marvellous towards 91.18?
Key Points:
Ascending broadening wedge expansion pattern with a measured move towards 91.18.
Holding the 66.24 pivot will be key, otherwise we could head towards 64.23 and lower - investors can start accumulating at current levels though.
MRVL is yet to make new ATHs, but fractals and patterns from all the other chipmakers suggest that we will eventually hit those levels.
Another interesting thing I noticed was that MRVL is the only chipmaker that is yet to make new ATHs. The ones that I look at (NVDA, AMD, SMCI, TSM, LRCX, AVGO, MU etc.) have all made new ATHs. Patterns tend to repeat themselves - at one stage AMD was lagging but made new ATHs. TSM and MU lagged for even longer but eventually found momentum to make new ATHs. It is likely that MRVL will be no exception and will eventually see fresh ATHs above 93.85.
3. @Jo Ker:
Key Points:
If the retracement of Nvidia and SuperMicron is any guidance, this grossly overpriced stock will only falls quicker in a pullback. It has nothing to do with if SoftBank decide to take profits on their holdings (if they decide to take profits at the overpriced price levels now, the fall in price will only accelerate ).
There is not even very high short ratio (>10%) in the stock for near term trading. The sellers are investors taking profits at these inflated prices.
Therefore, a good option trade will be to buy puts and hold till the price breaks the $120 level and falls to below $100 with the breakout!$ARM 20240419 140.0 PUT$

$ASML Holding NV(ASML)$ , a Dutch company that designs and builds systems and software used in the production of semiconductor chips. It is the only company in the world that currently manufactures extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, which enables the production of smaller, faster, more powerful microchips through the use of a shorter wavelength of light.
Although ASML enjoys a near-monopoly status with regards to their EUV lithography systems, there is speculation that increasing trade restrictions with China could put a damper on ASML's performance. China was ASML's third-biggest market in 2022, representing about 15% of its revenue. China has also enacted retaliatory export regulations on rare earth metals needed for chip manufacturing, which could drive the price of these key resources up and/or potentially require ASML to seek alternative production methods.
ASML is not the only company that makes microchip production systems, but it is the only company in the world that currently produces EUV lithography machines. ASML continues to innovate and maintain its status as one of the most important players in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
Personally, I think semiconductor microchips are at the core of most of the technology we use today, from phones to planes, cars to computers, and medical to military applications, and demand for the types of chips that ASML's technology facilitates is only expected to continue to grow, both steadily and significantly. I am generally bullish for all the semiconductor stocks $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ $Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares(SOXL)$ $C3.ai, Inc.(AI)$
