$Walt Disney(DIS)$ is ramping up its investment in cruise ships. The company’s sixth vessel, Disney Treasure, is set to embark on its maiden voyage on December 21. By 2031, seven more ships are expected to launch.

The Disney Treasure can accommodate 4,000 passengers and 1,555 crew members. Prices for its maiden voyage start at $8,511 per person, and all rooms are currently sold out online.

In an interview last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger highlighted that more consumers are opting for all-inclusive cruise vacations over the typically more expensive theme park stays. He noted that the Treasure recreates Disney park attractions, characters, and storylines in a cruise format.

Disney cruises offer trips of varying durations and distances, with pricing tiers to match. However, compared to standard cruise lines, Disney’s premium experiences and services make the journey more expensive.

$2000 for 1 month cruise with normal cruise lines?

Some suggest that sending parents on a cruise is a great gift as retired parents often have more free time.

For around $1,000, they could enjoy a week-long trip. Spending $2,000–$3,000 could extend the journey to a month. Cruises provide diverse dining options, entertainment, and occasional stops at ports for local exploration.

Since the end of the pandemic, the cruise industry has been rebounding. Cruise company $Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL)$ has repeatedly hit new highs this year, with a YTD gain of over 90%. Another cruise operator, $Carnival(CCL)$ , has seen its stock quadruple from its 2022 low of $6.11 to $26.

Will you go on a cruise vacation with your families or consider sending parents on a vacation?

Been on a cruise before but not something that I enjoyed a great deal. Feels like a staycation on sea. I will consider sending my parents if they enjoy it. That would be considered money well spent!

However, if this is a Disney cruise, I consider it as Disneyland on sea, without the rides? Somewhat like Disneyland yet not entirely in terms of experience. I will definitely consider going for one just to try it out. Who knows? Sounds like 1 week of Disney pass. I do foresee there will be many like me who will at least go for it the first time and I think it will be popular among families! I think it will be another source of revenue for Disney because they now have Disney on land and on sea!

I have been to 2 x 14 days (one is Myanmar; the other is Vietnam) cruise setting off from SG & 1 x 12 days NZ cruise from Sydney. When I started on my 1st 14 days Phuket-Myanmar-KL at the invite of my gf, I 😠😤😡🤬. I felt feet is not touching the ground. Always on water. Told myself that will be my last trip. Then my another gf suggesting 14 days Vietnam-HK-Phil. As it was a different cruise company, I went for it. Now I m enjoying it as every night fine dining n have to dress up. Then the same gf suggesting 12 days Sydney-NZ. Never been to NZ but sailing off from Sydney. That was my best trip as been to Milford sound and whatever other sounds. [Chuckle].

I used to go in cruise with my parents and they love it: free food all day long and enjoyed the sea breeze.
I would love to bring my mum to Disney Cruise but I know it is super expensive.

I had been on cruise with my family. I do see potential in cruise companies because it is easy ( with the whole package) and  suitable for family trips. For sure, cruise lines will bring more revenue for Disney because it will attract more people and provide another choice for relaxing travelling. The downside is mostly on the sea, and not really suitable for outdoor or sporty people.
