$British Pound - main 2212(GBPmain)$Rishi Sunak was critical of Liz Truss’ earlier promises on tax cuts that would further flame UK’s surging inflation and debts. His prize for correctly predicting the market turmoils following her election and tax cuts announcement leading to her subsequent downfall: He gets the job to now clean up the mess. I've been procrastinating for months to acquire a stake in BP as the oil major benefits from high crude oil prices and as it is revamping itself and pivoting to renewable energy. I had held back after Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, as I'm afraid that BP assets in Russia may be nationalized or the company may be forced to liquidate its stakes and partnership in Russia on the cheap. Asian stocks followed US equities lower, with Treasury yields at the highest level since the global financial crisis. A gauge of the region’s equities fell, with indexes declining in Japan, South Korea and Australia. Stocks in Hong Kong and mainland China fluctuated. US futures dropped in Asia amid wariness around economic challenges that saw the S&P 500 swing from a gain of more than 1% to a loss of almost the same. Hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve officials and swaps pricing in a 5% peak policy rate in 2023 should continue to support the greenback against its major peers and emerging-market currencies. The yen remained weaker than the closely-watched 150 per dollar level, boosting speculation that more intervention will be needed to support the Japanese currency. The dollar was

Stint in office characterized by market rout and U-Turns Truss becomes UK’s shortest-ruling premier in history Liz Truss quit as UK prime minister after a brief and chaotic tenure that saw her announce a massive package of tax cuts before unwinding most of it in the face of a market rout. Truss, 47, said she was resigning after just 44 days in office, and is set to become the shortest-ruling prime minister in British history. She said the Conservative Party aims to choose her successor within a week, and that she will stay on as premier until then. Candidates to replace her are likely to include former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak -- runner-up to Truss in this summer’s leadership contest. Other contenders then are also likely to be in the fray, including Penny Mordaunt, Grant Sh

$AAL 20221028 14.0 CALL$ Lesson from $American Airlines(AAL)$#earnings: Having an excellent quarterly earnings performance isn't enough if commentary doesn't support forward sustainability of the performance. For AAL, their almost 💯 increase in fuel cost from 2019 levels and their statement of intent to increase capacity to 2019 levels by next year seems to erode shareholders' confidence. This was the outcome as well of yesterday's other earnings announcement from Alaskan Airlines.  Surprisingly to me though, this outlook isn't unique and $United Continental(UAL)$shared similately as well during their earnings but seem less affected.. $British Pound - main 2212(GBPmain)$ It's political mayhem in the UK with the resignation of Liz Truss who has the record of the shortest reign of any British Prime Minister. In just 45 days, Liz Truss caused economic chaos in the UK with her tax policies of cutting taxes for businesses and high income that comes at a time when UK is undergoing high inflation, post Brexit Blues and soaring energy costs.  Liz Truss styled herself to be like Margaret Thatcher but unfortunately she is not of the same calibre as Thatcher.  For starters she refused to appoint anyone into her cabinet that has not supported her campaign, leaving her with a limited pool of talent.  When her tax policies failed, she had to fire her chancellor and home s

One of the top blockbuster action movie in 2022?

Talking about the current situation in U.K. may make some thinking if they are watching one of the top blockbuster action movie in 2022. The current PM may have stay in power for the shortest time but she manage to stay for at least 44 days, not too bad right [Doubt]  as some out there was hoping to see someone in the future to stay for 1 day or even 8 hours in power. At the end of the day, there should be no concern as U.K. always manage to come out and getting better, afterall who don't want take this golden opportunity to buy the dips in U.K. when it is cheap enough before it gets more expensive. @LMSunshine@Mrzorro

$British Pound - main 2212(GBPmain)$ I got a question to ask.  Who choose Truss to become the New British PM?  The answer is her own party members. The Conservative party also have the responsibility for the fall of PM. Her tax plan has cause the turmoil to Britain and stock market.  After Truss resigned,  there are three possible candidates are Rishi Sunak, Britain's former chancellor of the Exchequer,  Boris Johnson and Ben Wallace, defense secretary.  The oppostion party ( Labour party), Keir Starmer has called for an immediate general election after Liz Truss's shock resignation, saying: “The Conservative party has shown it no longer has a mandate to govern.” Suddenly I can recall Boris Johnson resi

Liz Truss has resigned as UK's Prime Minister just 6 weeks after taking charge. Truss was in power for just 45 days, which is the shortest term for a British PM. Truss has admitted that she cannot deliver the mandate on which she was elected by the Conservative Party. Her economic programme by slashing taxes without saying how the decision would be paid for had sent shockwaves through the markets and divided her conservative party just weeks after she was appointed. By the end, Truss had grown so unpopular that her fellow party lawmakers were publicly contemplating plans to replace her. Therefore, she was wise to resign on her own after a chaotic six weeks in office rather than being sacked by her Conservative Party and also after knowing her approval rating fell to the lowest of any

Ms. Truss said that a leadership election will be held within the next week to find her replacement. "I recognize that given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on whi
