US dollar index suffered the biggest one-day drop in about seven years, what can we expect from it

The US dollar index plunged nearly 2% last Friday, the biggest one-day drop in about seven years. October's non-agricultural data was mixed, and the number of new jobs was higher than expected, but the unemployment rate rose and wage inflation fell, and the labor market showed signs of slowing down. The dollar plummeted after the data was released. Even though the employment data is still strong, some Fed officials still support a small interest rate hike in December. With the decline of the US dollar, other major currencies gained a boost. As for the euro, it is uncertain whether the European Central Bank will continue to support the euro by raising interest rates. The euro may fall to the $0.95 level against the US dollar and remain weak for a longer period of time. The yen and Australia

$British Pound - main 2212(GBPmain)$ It's political mayhem in the UK with the resignation of Liz Truss who has the record of the shortest reign of any British Prime Minister. In just 45 days, Liz Truss caused economic chaos in the UK with her tax policies of cutting taxes for businesses and high income that comes at a time when UK is undergoing high inflation, post Brexit Blues and soaring energy costs.  Liz Truss styled herself to be like Margaret Thatcher but unfortunately she is not of the same calibre as Thatcher.  For starters she refused to appoint anyone into her cabinet that has not supported her campaign, leaving her with a limited pool of talent.  When her tax policies failed, she had to fire her chancellor and home s

$British Pound - main 2212(GBPmain)$ I got a question to ask.  Who choose Truss to become the New British PM?  The answer is her own party members. The Conservative party also have the responsibility for the fall of PM. Her tax plan has cause the turmoil to Britain and stock market.  After Truss resigned,  there are three possible candidates are Rishi Sunak, Britain's former chancellor of the Exchequer,  Boris Johnson and Ben Wallace, defense secretary.  The oppostion party ( Labour party), Keir Starmer has called for an immediate general election after Liz Truss's shock resignation, saying: “The Conservative party has shown it no longer has a mandate to govern.” Suddenly I can recall Boris Johnson resi

According to him, Truss cannot survive the current crisis, he says it is a matter of finding a successor. Meanwhile, another Conservative MP has called Truss a libertarian jihadist, engaged in an ultra-free-market experiment in the British economy. Why Pound would hurt the most?

Either sterling or UK bond will collapse. The "tax cut panic" spread in UK, and the yield of UK bonds, after the central bank announced on September 28th that there was no upper limit on the purchase of government bonds, once again reached the high point since the financial crisis in 2008.Why did the Bank of England buy government bonds? US percentage M2 growth — dollar liquidity declines The development of the US dollar is highly relevant to the direction of financial markets. Whether the world likes it or not, the world does depend on the US dollar. The only one that can print additional dollars is the US Federal Reserve. This effectively makes the Fed the world’s central bank. Since March 2021, the growth of dollar liquidity has been declining (i.e. the second derivative), as can also be seen from the development of the M2 money supply in the United States. The peak in M2 coincided with the peak in more speculative assets such as cryptocurrencies, SPACs, IPOs and shares of companies that do not make profits but were highly valued. Now, money supply growth is at a point where in the past there was usually a significant f

How Strong Dollar Changes Company Performance?

Under most circumstances, equity investors are not sensitive to currencies, but since the second half of this year, almost all currencies in the world have depreciated to US dollars, which may "unexpectedly" affect the performance of Q3.Fed's interest rate increase is one reason, major economies except Japan (the Bank of Japan has adopted extensionary monetary policy) are actually following. Why their currencies still clapse?Russia-Ukraine crisis would be another reason, then why commodity currencies like Canadian dollar and Australian dollar can't get rid of the decline neither?Degree of depreciation of major currencies against the US dollar this yearThe pivotal reason&n

Should you buy the Pound?

UK was just mourning the death of its queen and now it faces another low point - British pound (GBP) tanked 5% on Monday to a 37-year low against the USD.The GBP was very close in reaching parity with the USD as one pound hit US$1.0327 at the lowest point. The collapse of the pound is impactful in a way because it is a story about a country's fall from glory.UK held the record of being the largest empire in history, and it is now a shadow of its former self. The pound is also the oldest currency in the world that has been used continuously since 800.The currency was once circulated throughout the empire but has since been replaced by USD as the most important currency in the world. When the US sneezes, everyone else catches a cold.USD has been strengthening against many currencies as the Fed
