Investing Like A Sovereign Force - The Temasek Trinity Unlocked

🌟🌟🌟Most portfolios whisper.  My portfolio has done well because tucked inside it lies DBS, SGX and ST Engineering, 3 Singapore Giants lifted straight from Temasek's treasure chest. A Glimpse into Temasek's Origins Temasek was established in 1974 as Singapore's sovereign wealth fund which emerged from a bold idea - To separate state from business and let a commercially minded entity steer the nation's corporate crown jewels.  Temasek took over 35 government linked companies, from airlines to shipyards and started building an empire of strategic conviction.   Temasek wasn't just a holding company.  It has become a generational investor, focusing on long term value creation, global expansion and strategic influence.  Today with a portfolio of SGD 434 billion

With a portfolio worth over S$400 billion and holdings that span across tech, finance, biotech, and green energy, Temasek’s strategy often signals deeper trends in the global investment landscape. Temasek’s latest breakdown shows a continued focus on three broad areas: Innovation & Technology Temasek has doubled down on semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and cloud services. 🪙 Temasek's Treasure Chest: What I Learned from Studying Their Portfolio

Temasek just posted a record SGD 434B portfolio—up SGD 45B in 12 months. That's not luck. It's strategy. 📌 What stood out to me: Local anchors: 41% in Singapore giants like DBS, SIA, and Singtel. It's a strong home bias, but one rooted in stability and cash flow. Global ambition: 36% in direct global investments. These are forward-looking bets—AI, biotech, climate tech, fintech. 💡 What this means for retail investors like us: Don't blindly copy Temasek—but observe how they balance core vs growth. You don't need SGD billions. Just a smart allocation mindset: 40% in stable, dividend-rich plays 30% in long-term global megatrends 20% in swing trades and momentum 10% for conviction/lottos 🔥 My portfolio overlaps with Temasek in $DBS, $TSLA, and a few climate ETFs. But the real inspiration is ho

🌟🌟🌟As of March 2025, Temasek's top holding by market value is $DBS Group Holdings(D05.SI)$ with a 28% stake valued at approximately SGD 132.2 billion.  DBS continues to anchor Temasek's Singapore based portfolio, reflecting its strategic importance and consistent performance as Singapore's No. 1 bank and the largest in South East Asia. I am so fortunate to have DBS as my top holding stock too as I believe in its solid fundamentals, excellent management team and nice, juicy dividends that it pays every 3 months. As a Singaporean I am also very proud of how far DBS has progressed to have won so many accolades and awards over the years, the best being the Safest Bank in Asia for 16 consecutive years from 2009 to 2024 by Global Finance.

Temasek’s record SGD 434 billion portfolio, with a sharp SGD 45 billion jump in just one year, really caught my attention. Their 11.8% 1-year return shows they’ve been making the right calls, especially with their focus on Singapore-listed giants and global growth trends like digitalization and sustainability. My portfolio overlaps with Temasek’s in a few areas — I hold $DBS(D05.SI)$ and $Singtel(Z74.SI)$, which have been steady performers for me. While I haven’t added names like $Sea Ltd(SE)$ or $BlackRock(BLK)$ yet, Temasek’s strong exposure there makes me want to take a closer look. Overall, my local stocks have been reliable, giving me decent returns and stability. Temasek’s conviction in these companies strengthens my confidence in sticking with quality Singapore investments while ke

My portfolio does not seem to match Temasek’s at all. I hold none of the stocks listed here. So, I guess that is why my returns are so different for this year and also last year’s. Besides OCBC and frenken, my other Singapore shares are SREITS. As we all know, SREITs have not been performing well since the rate hikes a few years back. However, I did have some returns from dividends. I am now waiting for further rate cuts and for SREITs to rebound. I also hope that frenken can ride the AI momentum and give me handsome returns. I think in 2 years, my SREITs will give me great returns. Otherwise, for last year and this year, my main returns have come from HK stocks and I expect for the rest of this year will also be HK stocks. It remains to be seen whether the returns from SREITs will catch

I only hold SIA (xxxxx units) & SingTel (xxxxx units). Didn’t keep track of profits gain this week as my mind was on my iphone14 and customer’s issue. But I was very happy with the $$$$$$. I couldn’t believe with my own eyes. Just check and I confirmed the $$$$$$. Of course, these are paper gain. Unfortunately, I won’t be cashing out as I just want dividends. The stocks will be transferred to my beneficiary when I RIP. 🙏🙏🙏 Even my UT is overall green - both cash n SRS. My China UT USD was at a huge loss of xxxxx. But I m glad other UT managed to pull overall green.🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 I have a terrible week due to my iphone14 screen issue but seeing 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 and $$$$$$[USD][USD] makes my day. [LOL][Happy][Smile][Chuckle]
Congratulations 🍾 🎉 It’s very proud moment to see temasek to have such a good performance year to date results. Hopefully they can cash some profits out and put it to great use . I would like to invest in some of the Singaporean banks like $DBS(D05.SI)$. I wonder if they make up any proportion of the global indexes like $BETASHARES GLOBAL SHARES ETF(BGBL.AU)$ and $VANGUARD MSCI IND INTL ETF(VGS.AU)$

I am holding DBS, SIA, Singtel, Keppel, SembCorp, ST Engineering, OCBC etc. Currently profits are between 40 to 130%!
Oh I got $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$  and $SIA(C6L.SI)$   Dbs is the strongest bank, while SiA is our beloved first class airline paying 7% dividend. I don't have singtel though as growth is slow. Just not a believer.
I can 80% of my portfolio follow Temasek. Temasek has been invest heavily in India and Europe. Bitcoin and gold too. Congratulations to Temasek having such a great achievement.
