How much of your budget do you allocate to trading?

When someone asks what investors spend the most money 💵💵 on each month, it's undoubtedly the stock market.

Some say that investors are thrifty in real life, reluctant to spend an extra penny, but they spend lavishly in the stock market.

When planning monthly expenses, they allocate just a bit 🤏 for food and put most money into the stock market and banks.

I heard that a friend remains calm when his stock account fluctuates tens of thousands of dollars overnight. In real life, if he wants to buy a $50 chair, he hesitates and thinks it’s a little bit expensive.

All Singaporeans need to contribute to CPF. Of the balance, about 15% to parents, 10% to expenses, 50% to investment then the rest save or to have cash on hand to allow me to add positions. But i do expect that 50% in investments to drop if my plan to get my property comes to fruition. A significant proportion will be needed to pay mortgage[Cry]

👳🏾‍♀️ My GURU, a financial planner’s advice is to allocate 5% of my monthly income to trading. That literally is money i put aside for savings after i spent on essential expenses such as housing, food, transportation, health care, allowances for my loved ones, entertainment and short-term savings. I do not have big budget to trade so i have to do my due diligence before every trade. I have been able to grow this money to hedge against inflation so believe in him. Thanks @Tiger_comments [Happy]

  • Around 50% to 30% of my savings are allocated for investments. Depends on market situations. If market situations are good and too hit, I will reduce the investment amount.
If the markets are bad, I will increase the investment amount progressively.

    有人说,投资者在现实生活中很节俭,不愿意多花一分钱,但他们在股市上花得很奢侈。

    当计划每月开支时,他们只拨出一点钱买食物,把大部分钱投入股票市场和银行。

  • The thing about trading is that you can put in as much as you want as long you can Risk losing it in the long term. Please don't put money which you need to use or spend in the short term and definitely don't use money which you need for food, loans, rent, clothes and basic essentials etc or when you need it for family or kids too. It's just common sense ya.

    當有人問投資者💵💵每個月花在哪些方面的錢最多時,無疑是股票市場。

I have a DCA plan in place where I put in buy 500 dollars worth of IVV every month. Other than that, I put everything into a high interest savings account n wait for the market to drop before I pump everything into the market.

And I'll sell put options every month to earn premiums and also use the money and dividends paid out to pump back into the market again whenever some stocks on my watchlist hit story support levels that I'm monitoring.

I will strive to allocate 30-40% for trading. I use 1 of the Rule "Reward Myself 1st when It's pay day [USD] [USD] [USD] [USD] [USD] [LOL] [LOL] [LOL]".  Thereafter, strive that Markets also give some faces when I Open any Long position.....I hope and Pray 🙏... Everytime Open position immediately Up Rally [Happy] [Happy] [Happy] [Happy].... [Bless] [Bless] [Bless] [Bless]

Monthly budget is like new year resolution on wish list but not follow through exactly. Target at least 10% for saving/trading.

10-20% sounds about right. stick to the rules. cut loss at stop loss, take profits at target price. long run you will be a winner
