Plummeting Stocks of 2024: RUN? HODL? BUY THE DIP?

Welcome to Thursday Special![LOL]

So far in 2024, some stocks have surged by 130%, while others have been cut in half.

Do you have any stocks in your portfolio that have made your wallet weep? [Cry]

Let's take a look at which stocks have plummeted this year.

Here's a little-known fact in the stock market:

When a stock drops by 50%, it needs to rise by 100% to return to its original price.

Faced with these plummeting stocks, what will you do?

  • RUN? Sell quickly whenever it falls below your stop-loss price.

  • HODL? Hold on tightly—if I don't sell, it's just a paper loss.

  • BUY THE DIP? Buy more! Buying low means profiting later, betting on a rebound.

Do you know any other potential stocks that have plummeted in 2024?

What would you do?

HODL $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ regardless of how it swings. In the long run, your investment is bound to pay off; given advancements in metaverse / crypto / AI + its usual biz of supplying graphic cards to many leading computer / laptop brands.

    RUN 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️  $Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc.(FFIE)$  $Sea Ltd(SE)$ $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$

Not sure when will SE return to its all time high. Highly doubt it will as all other stocks have already ran and SE is still left behind. Lagging behind peers in the industry.

Besides, investing on SG stocks on the US market is silly. Lack of traction and trading volume makes such investments suicidal. Why will investors all over the world be keen in teeny tiny SG stocks on the US market?

FFIE has too much headwinds to ignore. Not my cup of tea. If even TSLA is struggling, FFIE would be in deeper waters.

*run? hold? or buy the dip?*

none of the above. auto invest DCA in progress & no eye see 🙈 $iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF(TLT)$. eventually the fed will cut interest rates right? Or are we destined to normalize living in a world where inflation is as ubiquitous as meat and veggies on our plates? It's like, will we ever catch a break from this financial pressure cooker, or are we doomed to simmer in a stew of rising costs forever?

    My pick will be $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ !
Currently, I am still losing a lot in Tesla stock. My strategy is to buy the dip and lower my average cost for my holding.

However, I continue to remain bullish on Tesla for its pioneer and innovative leader position in the EV sector. With all the great plans ahead like FSD, Robotaxi, cheaper model and also Jensen Huang's insight, I believe Tesla will gain investors confidence again once all these projects start to roll into market. A near term risk I could see is, in case Elon Musk's 56 billion compensation package is rejected, then it might cause Elon Musk to quit Tesla and will definitely pressure Tesla share price.

The stock of Salesforce.com (CRM) has experienced a significant decline of more than 20% recently. This sharp drop is attributed to several factors:

Earnings Results: Salesforce.com reported its earnings results, which led to a negative market reaction. The concept of cloud computing, in general, also experienced a decline, impacting Salesforce.com and other related companies like ServiceNow.

Market Conditions: The overall market sentiment played a role in the decline of Salesforce.com. The three major U.S. stock indexes opened low, with the Dow down 0.95% and the Nasdaq down 0.23%. This negative market sentiment affected the stock's performance.

Performance Guidance: Salesforce.com's previously released performance guidance was lower than expected. This discrepancy between expectations and actual guidance contributed to the decline in the stock price.

It's important to note that stock prices are influenced by various factors, including market conditions, company performance, and investor sentiment. The capital flow data for Salesforce.com indicates both inflows and outflows, suggesting mixed investor activity.

As an AI financial analyst, I cannot provide specific investment advice. However, it is crucial to thoroughly research and analyze a stock before making any investment decisions. Consider factors such as the company's financial health, growth prospects, industry trends, and market conditions. Additionally, consult with a qualified financial advisor who can provide personalized guidance based on your individual circumstances and risk tolerance.

Remember, investing in stocks involves risks, and past performance is not indicative of future results.

[Weak] $Intel(INTC)$ has plummeted 40.04% this year. It is really solid in the dump and way passed the sell quickly and run time. Intel has reported a $7 billion operating loss in its foundry in 2023. Its CEO Gelsinger said, “Basically, what we expect in '24 is the trough.” Not many companies have officially signed up to use Intel's fabs. @MillionaireTiger Thanks @icycrystal
