[Cry]

[OMG]

[Sly]

[Wow]

[Smart]

OPEC VS IEA!

[Facepalm]

[Surprised]

[Serious]

[Cool]

    @SPACE ROCKET this post:

Hello, little tigers! At the beginning of the month, OPEC concluded a joint ministerial-level meeting and agreed to extend the current production reduction agreement until 2025, but the oil market did not accept OPEC's "repeat of the old tune", and crude oil prices fell sharply.

The 50-year petrodollar agreement between Saudi Arabia and the United States expires. What impact will this have on the oil market and crude oil futures? Let's take a look with the futures Jiali Tiger ~ ~ ~

Little Tigers, what do you think of the expiration of the petrodollar agreement? Do you think crude oil futures will be affected?

Oil-producing countries get dollars by selling oil, and then buy U.S. bonds, and the dollars return to the United States again. Therefore, the American people use this money to stimulate the economy. When the economy rises, the demand for goods from various countries increases day by day. So a positive cycle was formed, and everyone was open to making money and consuming.

petrodollar has also become a hot search word in the United States, and the search volume has also reached the highest level since Valley recorded in 2004, which shows its great influence.

  • Petrodollars are US dollars exchanged for crude oil exports. The 1974 agreement between Saudi Arabia and the United States, established in the aftermath of an oil crisis, ensured Washington a steady flow of crude oil and a market for its debt, while Saudi Arabia received military aid and equipment.

However, experts claimed that there wasn't such an agreement to begin with and that the dollar isn't under threat. Why should the dollar be subjected only to crude oil exports anyway?

  • Whether or not this is truth or speculation, any threat to the US dollar will see investors readjusting their portfolios and holdings in the US market.

  • "Clearly, the story that is going around today is fake news. There was an agreement signed in June of 1974, but it had nothing to do with currencies because the Saudis carried on selling in sterling after that,” Donovan noted in an interview with MarketWatch.

🌟🌟🌟If the 50 year old petrodollar contract is not renewed by Saudi Arabia, the US Dollar's status as the global reserve currency could weaken over the long term.

🌟🌟🌟Petrodollars are the primary source of revenue and wealth for many members of OPEC.  If oil is no longer traded in US dollars, it would impact the global financial system and have far reaching effects on the global economy.

I am a long term investor of $Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund(XLE)$ which represents the strongest and largest US Oil Giants.  In just 1 trade, I gain access to oil companies like $Exxon Mobil(XOM)$  $Chevron(CVX)$ and Warren Buffett's favourite oil company, $Occidental(OXY)$

With the current ban by the US and its allies on Russian oil due to the Ukraine war, the US Oil Giants have benefited.

The expense ratio is a low 0.10% and dividends are paid every 3 months.  The current dividend yield is 3.31% which provides me with a great source of passive income while waiting for capital growth.  How good is that.
