I decided to close my UNH position after locking in a 14% gain over just three weeks. The quick run-up exceeded my short-term expectations, so I felt it was a good opportunity to secure profits rather than risk giving them back in a volatile market.
While I still recognize UnitedHealth's solid fundamentals, my initial plan for this trade was tactical, not long-term. With the target achieved, it made sense to exit and free up capital for new opportunities.
In short, I treated this as a momentum-driven play and was satisfied with the return in such a short time frame.
