I remain bullish on Tesla's $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$
I think Elon Musk's point is spot on: going from 0 to 99% is the easy part; the real challenge is that last 1%. Tesla has been collecting billions of miles of real-world data for years, constantly refining its FSD neural networks. NVIDIA, by contrast, may provide other automakers with an easier path to enter self-driving, but integrating Thor into a car, scaling it, and fine-tuning the software for true robotaxi-level performance will realistically take 5–6 years. By the time they get there, Tesla will likely have advanced even further.
The CES hype around Thor has understandably spooked some investors, which is why Tesla dipped 4% recently. I view this as a temporary market reaction rather than a fundamental shift. Tesla's FSD roadmap is well-defined, and their focus on end-to-end vehicle-level integration, from sensors to neural net training, remains unmatched. NVIDIA's strategy lowers the entry barrier for traditional automakers, but that doesn't immediately translate into a competitive robotaxi advantage.
From my perspective, this dip is actually a buying opportunity. Tesla's valuation is being punished on fears that may never materialize, and I see this as a chance to accumulate more shares at attractive levels. With robotaxi commercialization on the horizon and FSD continuously improving, Tesla is still my top pick for autonomous driving exposure. I'm confident that over the next few years, the gap between Tesla and any other automaker relying on third-party platforms will remain significant.
In short, I'm not worried about NVIDIA Thor threatening Tesla's lead. If anything, the Thor announcement underscores how advanced Tesla's position already is — they're setting the bar while others play catch-up. I'll continue to hold and selectively add to my Tesla position, viewing short-term volatility as an opportunity rather than a risk.
As a retail investor, I focus mainly on the US and Singapore markets, combining a mix of technical trading and long-term investing strategies. I enjoy analyzing charts, spotting patterns, and making calculated moves based on both market sentiment and fundamentals.
