On a day when all the US indexes closed lower, it is a great surprise that Nio's share price has jumped 1.01% to USD 21.97.

I believe that this is just a Bear Market Rally for Nio and not sustainable in the near term.

Nio's share price is rather volatile.  In 52 weeks, the price range is a low of 11.67 to a high of 44.27.  The immediate support level is 19.

But in the next 12 months, Nio shares could double in value.  This is due to Nio's ET5 sedan which is rapidly becoming a top selling premium EV given the initial positive demand for the EV and Nio's efforts to boost production.  Nio has received about 200,000 pre orders for ET5 and Nio is set to deliver its first batch on 30 September 2022.

Nio delivered 25,059 EVs in 2Q 2022.  Nio said that orders for ES7 were exceeding expectations.  The 1st batch of ET7 EVs were shipped to Europe in August.

Nio said that ET7 and EC6 production in July slowed down due to supply issues related to casting parts.  However Nio expects vehicle production to accelerate in the coming months. 

Nio has now delivered 60,879 EVs year to date, bringing up cumulative deliveries to 227,949.

My Target price for Nio is 19 in the short term but this can easily be doubled within the next 12 months.  So if it drops to 19, I will buy Nio.
