🌟🌟🌟I like to think if my portfolio is up, it is because of my skill in investing. However the reality is Luck plays a key role in investing. I define Luck as Risk or Probability that is inherent in investing.
So since Lady Luck is temperamental, I minimise my risk through diversification with ETFs, and quality stocks and not taking large positions. I also invest in defensive sectors like Consumer Staples and Healthcare.
Most importantly, I believe that patience and a long term horizon is essential to build wealth to achieve my goal of FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early.
May Lady Luck shine on us always 😍😍😍🍀🍀🍀🌈🌈🌈

No matter how skillful or knowledgeable we are if there is "no luck at all" we will not able to win the game! Yet blinds 🦯 playing the game in stock market it's just like commit suicide! [Tongue]
do u agree with me?

"Luck is temporary, skill is permanent." or something like that... [Happy]
No one is lucky all the time, but with skill, you might beat the market most of the time!
However, end of day it really boils down to luck. Those who really bought into Tesla in the early days can literally stopped working and make a living by selling covered calls for Tesla.
However to be successful in investing in the long run, the impact of luck is really more important. A lot of people will be tempted to take profit when the stock you are holding is up a lot, like 20%, 50%. But few will be able to stock past the 100% gain.
you need some luck to go your way as well.
