[Rewards] What do you think of the recent mining stocks rally?

Australian miner’s stocks, BHP, RIO, and FMG, are heading off the best month since 2007. Investors have been bidding up the ASX 200 miners today after a boost in iron ore futures prices.

The industrial metal leapt 3% to US$100.40 (AU$149.80) per tonne. That’s up from just over US$81 per tonne on 1 November. And it’s the highest price the industrial metal has fetched in two months, since 29 September.

The Chinese government has intensified its efforts to assist China's struggling property market, which will benefit Australian iron ore exports and mining-related companies.

I think the rally in miners will sustain despite being volatile. 🇨🇳’s easing of Covid restrictions greatly boosted iron ore prices. However I’m more 🐂-ish about lithium stocks then iron stocks because if recession hits, my reasoning is that building of houses will be more affected than production of EVs. Bought 2 extra lithium stocks when it was on sale🛍 Was green last week but just turned red-confirming the volatility. Recommend $Allkem Limited(AKE.AU)$ as it’s a current producer of lithium with strong production record and I suspect earnings for this quarter will be high due to 🇨🇳’s reopening🤓

🌟🌟🌟Australia is currently in the midst ofa supercycle for commodities following a surge in commodity prices.  The catalysts for this is due to the Ukrainian war, the current ban on Russian commodities such as oil by US and its allies and China's move to slowly relax Covid 19 restrictions.

Coal prices remain near record highs with Newcastle grade thermal coal paying over USD345/t today compared to the dark days of pandemic when coal prices fell as low as USD 48/t.

$New Hope(NHC.AU)$  is my pick for coal mining share.  Its share price has jumped a whopping 191% in the past year from a low AUD 1.96 to AUD 5.88.

New Hope's EBIDTA is up 167% in October quarter to AUD 648.1 million compared to AUD 242.5 million in the same quarter in 2021.  New Hope has AUD 1.8 billion in cash and pays a generous dividend yield of 8.16%.

New Hope is a cash machine as the demand for high quality thermal coal is high due to the Ukrainian war and demand outstripping supply.

Mining is critical to Australia economy as it makes up ~75% of the country's exports. Though coal mining will eventually fizzle out due to the global shift towards clean energy / renewables adoption, i don't think it will go away overnight (2035-2040?)  therefore, it's most important for Australia govt to work on improving its relations with Big Brother China in the meantime. 🐯

Fortescue Metals, Woodside, Bluescope Steel, Whitehaven Coal, BHP. As tigers have already highlighted in their comments, I think a better relationship be tween China and Australia will see higher exports hopefully, I’ve noticed packages I order from China are arriving very quickly (some within just over a week), which says to me that China is starting to open up again, economically also. The push for EVs won’t overcome people’s use of petrol/diesel/gas driven vehicles anytime soon. The battery technology just hasn’t caught up with the EV sector yet. Also energy prices/profiteering from, are becoming top news in Austra lia which means profits $$$.

Iron ore miners have for along time been Australias go to for stability, and helped to bring economic safety and riches to those willing to get in board… im here to say that Rio and BHP will soon be playing second fiddle to the new green economy of Lithium Miners that are putting new technology through its paces. Like The partnership between LKE and Lilac solutions in Argentina…
I may be optimistic for change but im not alone

It's bullish all right but it's overbought. I will expect the rally to stop soon. It's always better to wait for retracement. Too risky to buy now. Risk rewards ratio unfavorable

I am positive on minning stocks recent rally. It will be continued to rally with China relaxing their Covid control and support property policy. The demand for mining will significantly increase. I recommend to add some positions in your portfolio. The shares will bounce back plus all have attractive dividend yields

As the lockdown is over for most countries,  travelling and spending have increasingly. Raw materials (coal and wheat) are needed.  I think  $BHP GROUP LTD(BHP.AU)$

I believe is short term rebound. the future of the mining company is depends on China government to buy more iron ore or not. I think FMG have some relationship with Australia Mining company.

My pick $NEWCREST MINING LIMITED(NCM.AU)$. It is one of the world's leading gold producers, with mining operations in Australia, Canada, and Papua New Guinea.

BHP deserves its spot at the top of this list. It is currently the largest mining company in the world and the largest company listed on the ASX in market capitalisation. @onlyYou

Covid slow everything down, so hopefully rise is coming or it's started now. Still the mines will be having hoildays soon and it will cut production to the hoildays are over.
