What I did to fight this current high inflation. With today's high costs in almost every sector of the economy, there is no choice but for everyone to chexk on their current spending levels. Everything, well almost, has gone up - cost of transportation, food, accomodation like rents and hotel charges for that short vacation. Having said that, you need to continue to invest your savings to generate good dividends and capital growth to offset the high inflation. To maintain some sense to my living costs, I  have cut down on unnecssary  spending, I have sold off my car and rely on public ttansport. With the mrt next to my door step, it just makes no sense to maintain the high cost of owning one. Singapore's public transport network  is second to none and really owning a ca

Well, honestly who do not wish to own a car in SG like every country? But the cost is really crazy for just a COE. Yeah I think it is rather convenient to travel using the public transport in Singapore, but still causing some inconvenience to elder people. Well, maybe the car can only be affordable by the rich people. Those who are not very rich will usually consider to invest in other value growing items instead of car. Unless the price of ownership is much more reasonable. Anyway, I really hope the COE price could go down in SG one day although it is quite impossible! Either I invest better or work harder so that I can drive my own car in SG one day! Haha. @GoodLife99 @Aqa
