🎁 Writing Contest|August Trading Recap: Plan for September

August is coming to an end, and September is just around the corner. Take a moment to look back at every buy, sell, and decision you made this month: What did you get right? What would you rethink? And if you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? Growth in trading doesn’t come from profits alone. It also comes from reflecting on every trade and learning from the experience. A successful trade is worth understanding—what made it work? An unsuccessful one is just as valuable—what could have been done differently? A meaningful review isn’t about judging your past self. It’s about helping your future self make better decisions and avoid the same mistakes. 📝 This Week’s Topic August Trading Recap: Reflect, Learn & Plan for September Share your August trading recap + Sep

Last week’s market looked calm, but beneath the surface, risks were rising. The S&P 500 edged higher, while Hong Kong stocks weakened as profit-taking hit technology names. In the U.S., Warsh’s hawkish tone and sticky PCE inflation pushed Treasury yields sharply higher, keeping September rate-policy uncertainty alive. This week, the spotlight shifts to jobs. A weak payroll report could revive rate-cut expectations and support equities, while stronger employment may keep yields elevated and pressure high-valuation growth stocks. Earnings are equally important. Broadcom and Dell will test whether AI infrastructure spending remains strong, while Palo Alto Networks, MongoDB and Snowflake could show whether AI demand is spreading into software. My strategy: don’t chase short-term momentum.

🏆 AUGUST TAUGHT ME SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN PICKING THE RIGHT STOCK

If I judged August purely by my portfolio, it would be a pretty strange month to review. My positions were small. Some were short-lived. There were buys, sells, changes of plan and at least one period where I bought $BE and then watched it fluctuate like it had taken my purchase personally. 😂 But the biggest reason my portfolio looked the way it did had very little to do with the market. Real life happened. I needed access to money for personal circumstances, which meant selling investments earlier than I might otherwise have chosen. At first, that felt frustrating. We spend so much time talking about finding great companies, building conviction and holding for the long term. But August taught me something I think is just as important: Your investment strategy has to survive your real life

It is about being right for the right reason, at the right price, with the right position size. Looking back at my August trading, the biggest lesson was not a particular stock or a particular return. It was learning to distinguish between a good company, a good story, and a good trade. They are three completely different things. ① August Recap — What Did I Get Right? Why I Think Going Long U.S. Stocks and Gold Ahead of Jackson Hole Isn't a Good Idea

I believe most market participants currently recognize that U.S. equities are at an extremely delicate point of equilibrium. Technically, the S&P 500 has already fallen below its 20-day moving average, and bearish sentiment has intensified sharply. At the fundamental level, however, the fragile balance among U.S. Treasuries, U.S. equities, confidence in the U.S. dollar, and inflation expectations remains unchanged. The Treasury’s expansion of its long-term Treasury buyback program may appear to stabilize the market, but in the face of rapidly rising debt and elevated interest costs, the measure looks more like an attempt to buy time than to solve the underlying problem. $标普500(.SPX)$

US market 'maybe' crash & investor Plan B ?

. Of late, the US stock market is showing valuation patterns that have historically preceded major downturns. Just to be clear, it does not mean that a crash is imminent or certain. Warnings. Looking across key economic indicators and corporate valuation metrics, the US equity market exhibits several clear, historical warning signs of structural vulnerability: (1) Metrics valuations. a) The Shiller CAPE Ratio: Measuring price versus 10-year inflation-adjusted earnings, this ratio has consistently stayed above 40 since May 2026. Outside of recent trading, the late-1990s dot-com bubble was the only other period in US history where this metric remained above 40 for an extended time. b) The Buffett Indicator: Total US stock-market value divided by US GDP, currently stands at a record roughly 2

Why Drone Tariffs Help AeroVironment Only If Domestic Capacity Can Scale

New US tariffs substantially raise the price of imported drones and components, giving domestic manufacturers a protective barrier. $AeroVironment(AVAV)$ is an obvious potential beneficiary, but the policy will matter only if the company can convert a more favourable competitive environment into profitable production and funded orders. President Donald Trump signed the drone proclamation on August 13. It imposes a 100% tariff on certain drones weighing more than 25 kilograms or carrying sensitive capabilities such as thermal imaging, a 25% tariff on smaller drones and specified parts, and lower country-specific rates for qualifying allies. Bull! Why is the AI Bull Market is Back? The market previously sold off because investors feared that AI spending was rising faster than the profits it generated. I think $1,150 is achievable, while $1,375 would need another major upside catalyst or earnings surprise. 2️⃣ CRM — AI agents gaining traction Agentforce is turning AI from a story into real revenue, with ARR growing rapidly. If the Aug. 26 earnings show continued adoption and strong guidance, CRM could see another valuation rerating. 3️⃣ ADBE — AI monetization play Adobe remains a high-quality software business, but the key question is whether Firefly and Acrobat AI can turn strong user adoption into sustainable revenue growth.
