Investing 101 SDR Series: Spotlight on 3 New China SDRs - Capturing The AI Value Boom Amid Volatility

🌟🌟🌟The global technology landscape is undergoing a monumental, generational shift.  But let's address the elephant in the trading room first: the Chinese equity market has been a wild, nerve wrecking rollercoaster lately.

The benchmark CSI 300 index has just slipped into bear market territory after a gruelling 10 week rout, wiping out billions in global market cap.  Fear and local economic fatigue are driving the selloff.  Trying to time the broader Chinese index right now feels a bit like catching a falling knife.

But beneath this macro panic lies a profound, institutional secret:  this brutal selloff has pushed world class AI infrastructure companies into deeply undervalued territory.

The timing couldn't be more perfect.  On 16 October 2026, the SGX has listed 3 brand new China AI SDRs.  It is a moment where the Panda meets Merlion, combining China's tech muscle with Singapore's financial powerhouse security .

This means that savvy retail investors can now bypass the macro noise and grab heavily discounted chip and software stocks using Singapore Dollars during local trading hours.

Here are 3 high conviction, deeply discounted AI infrastructure SDRs that have just arrived under our spotlight:

The SGX China AI Value Stack:

1. $Montage HK SDR 30to1(HMED.SI)$

Primary Listing: Shanghai STAR Market

Montage Technology is the undisputed king of memory interconnect chips, controlling an elite 36.8% global market share.  It makes the essential physical hardware that stops heavy duty AI servers from overheating and bottlenecking during massive data transfers.

Despite the broader market panic, Montage just posted a jaw dropping Q3 26 earnings preview forecasting a 153% to 174% year on year explosion in net profit.

Trading dramatically below its 52 week highs due to regional sentiment, consensus analysts view it as a Strong Buy with an average price target showcasing significant upside potential.

2.  $ZJ Inno HK SDR 100to1(HZJD.SI)$

Primary Listing: Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Zhongji Innolight is the single largest producer of high speed optical transceivers on Earth, serving as the literal nervous system for data centres operated by global titans like NVIDIA and Meta Platforms.

Market panic has dragged its price down, completely ignoring the fact that its first half net profit skyrocketed 241.7% year on year.

Over 60% of Zhongji Innolight's revenues are hedged internationally via US cloud spending.  It is so confident that it has just launched a massive USD 1.1 billion share buyback program to exploit its own discounted valuation.

3.  $Z.AI HK SDR 100to1(HZAD.SI)$

Primary Listing: Hong Kong Stock Exchange

Z.AI is a true algorithmic pioneer, standing tall as the world's very first pure play foundation model Large Language Model (LLM) company to ever hit the public markets.

While hardware makers get the immediate glory, scalable software models yield the highest long term cash flow.

Punished heavily by the localised tech rout, Z.AI is priced like a struggling internet startup despite aggressively taking its advanced software intelligence into high margin global markets.

Concluding Thoughts: The Bottom for Investors

These 3 SDRs are not competing with each other.  They form a tightly bound, vertical AI value stack spanning data interconnects, optical networking and front end software intelligence.

The wider market is throwing the baby out with the bathwater because of macro fears.  This hands long term investors a pristine, fresh off the press entry point directly out of their local Singapore account.

It is impossible trying to guess the exact bottom of the market.  Don't stress over the noise.   Buy when these SDRs are on clearance sale.

As the wise market guru once said,

"When a storm rages, the crowd runs to hide from the wind.  But the truly wise investor builds windmills and buys the infrastructure at a big discount."

Optical moat is the part people are sleeping on here. HZJD gets mispriced like generic hardware when the module barrier is way stickier

Which verticals are actually scaling first for Z.AI overseas, and what gross margin range are you underwriting there?
