SNOW +12%; CRWD Dips - SaaS for AI, Pick Company or $IGV?

Snowflake earned 35 cents per share, after adjustments, on revenue of $1.14 billion, above the profit of 27 cents per share and $1.09 billion in revenue that analysts were expecting. Its third-quarter guidance was also upbeat. While second-quarter results topped Street estimates, CrowdStrike said third-quarter revenue would total $1.21 billion to $1.22 billion, lower than the LSEG consensus estimate of $1.23 billion. --------- Is SaaS too complicated too pick? Will you consider $IGV - the saas etf? How do you view SNOW earnings?

🚀 Snowflake Surges, CrowdStrike Slips — Can SaaS Still Deliver? The SaaS sector just reminded investors that not all cloud stocks are created equal. On the same earnings day, Snowflake ($Snowflake(SNOW)$  ) jumped +12% after smashing estimates, while CrowdStrike ($CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.(CRWD)$  ) slid -4% as its revenue guidance came in a touch light. It’s a tale of two SaaS giants — one riding a wave of investor confidence, the other showing that even market darlings can stumble when expectations are sky-high. The big question: is SaaS still worth picking stock by stock, or is it safer to just ride the basket via $IGV (iShares Expanded Tech-Software ETF)? --- 📊 Snowflake: From Hyp

At the Jackson Hole meeting, Fed Chair Powell signaled a potential rate cut in September, seen as a policy shift, sparking global optimism about an easing cycle. I am intrigued by the headline "SNOW +12%; CRWD Dips - SaaS for AI, Pick Company or $iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF(IGV)$  ?" and the details about Snowflake and CrowdStrike's recent financial performances.  I note that Snowflake $Snowflake(SNOW)$  reported earnings of 35 cents per share, adjusted, on revenue of $1.14 billion, surpassing the expected profit of 27 cents per share and $1.09 billion in revenue. This strong second-quarter performance, coupled with upbeat third-quarter guidance, impresses me. It seems Snowflake is demonstrating solid growth, which aligns with my interest in companies showing resilience in the market. On the other hand, I
Here is the details of my trading on earnings on$Snowflake(SNOW)$   Before earnings I did some research. By all analysts the results were expected to be good for revenue and profits with a growth in EPS. So I knew I could buy into the stock if in worst case it fell. I then had to choose strategies. A naked put Or a cash secured put would have been a winner if the price went straight up. But such conviction borders on foolishness. Also to collect premiums the strike would have to be near the present price which was already elevated. I was not comfortable with this as even buying using a CS Put may result in a high cost price. I then shortlisted on two strategies, a bull put spread or an iron condor. Since I

AI and SaaS Stocks

In recent years, there has been tremendous hype and investor interest around AI and SaaS (Software as a Service) stocks. This attention has been largely driven by breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, growing adoption across industries, and the narrative that these technologies represent the future. As a result, valuations of many companies in these sectors have soared, often far beyond their historical averages. While I acknowledge the long-term potential of AI and SaaS, I maintain a disciplined investment approach. Although many of these stocks are on my watchlist, they are rarely on my buy list. In my Tiger Brokers account, I make use of a practical strategy: I set price alerts for each stock on my watchlist, typically around their 52-week lows. This system allows me to be notified
