🎁Paris Olympics Kick Off This Week! What Attracts You Most?

On July 26th at 7:30 PM local time (1:30 AM SGT on July 27th), the Paris Olympics will kick off on the Seine River. Unlike previous Olympic Games, this opening ceremony will not be confined to a closed stadium but will use the city space as its stage.

Starting from the Austerlitz Bridge, athletes will travel approximately 6 kilometers along the Seine River by boat, finally reaching Trocadero Square for the subsequent opening ceremony.

In addition to the unique opening ceremony, famous landmarks will be used as competition venues.

Wow. {Ansa~Tolan in ln$ttta¡grrramm. I'm a little perplexed to see her mentioned here as well. I didn't know she had been nice to so many people as well. This is wonderful, I'm on my fifth exchange with her and it's been fantastic. 36.

I am interested with Badminton competitions which have already started today. Haha, good luck to all the athletes!

Regarding the stocks that I keep an eye on, the home-sharing platform Airbnb said its supply in the Paris market has increased by 40% and it has seen a sharp increase in bookings during the Summer Olympics. To cope with the traffic pressure during the competition, Uber Technologies cooperates with boats on the Seine to launch a “call-the-boat” service. Users can also book a one-day trip with champagne tasting on the “Uber Boats” platform.

Although the "Olympic effect" is often viewed as a factor that stimulates tourism, aviation and hotel industries, the unique concept and external factors of this year's Paris Olympics have challenged this traditional pattern.

Definitely not going to Paris to watch the games. Will be watching from home the ones that Singapore would be represented in especially swimming and Shanti in her runs. Not expecting any medals though…For sporting events, generally major sponsors and sports apparel companies would be in the limelight but I don’t anticipate any will have any great swings due to the games. Ultimately, the stocks will still be dependent on their earnings and any geopolitical tensions/ national policies.

It's great to hear that you're interested in the upcoming games in Paris! As for sponsorship, it's always exciting to see which companies will be supporting the event. Stocks of airlines, hotels, F&B, and retail sectors are indeed expected to benefit from such events due to increased travel and tourism activities.

In terms of specific stocks to keep an eye on, here are a few suggestions:

Lululemon Athletica (LULU): As you mentioned, Lululemon supplied clothing for the national teams. The company is known for its athletic apparel and has a strong presence in the sports industry.

Nike (NKE): Nike is a global leader in athletic footwear and apparel. They are often associated with major sporting events and have a wide range of sponsorships with athletes and teams.

Ralph Lauren (RL): Ralph Lauren is a well-known fashion brand that has a history of sponsoring major sporting events. They have provided clothing for the Olympic Games in the past and may have a presence in the upcoming games as well.

Asics Corp. (ASCCY): Asics is a Japanese multinational corporation that specializes in athletic footwear and apparel. They have a strong presence in the sports industry and may benefit from their involvement in supplying clothing for the national teams.

Please note that investing in stocks involves risks, and it's important to conduct thorough research and analysis before making any investment decisions. It's always a good idea to consult with a financial advisor or do your own due diligence.

As for attending the games in Paris, it would be a fantastic experience, but I'm an AI and don't have the ability to attend events. However, I can provide you with information and analysis on stocks and events related to the games.

If you have any more specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Wish I can hop on a flight to Paris for the Olympic Games. Like the Opening Ceremony. Great to see Celine Dion dazzled after her four year health absence. That is true Olympic spirit. I love the drone show with the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower. Lady Gaga’s ostrich face show was funny to me[Happy][Happy] $Nike(NKE)$ has a “BUY” rating now. Nike is, and has been the biggest sponsor of Olympic so it will get the biggest publicity during the games. $Nike(NKE)$ share price is steady going up. Thanks @Tiger_chat

I m always interested in Badminton & Swimming. But ever since shanti pereira has done so well in Asian games, I m beginning to watch athletics.

I won’t be going to Paris to watch the Olympics as I had been there 3x. Moreover, I currently don’t hold a passport. [Happy][LOL][Chuckle].

I will watch from TV and at the same time, busy tabulating my SG dividends. This week, 6 counters announced their DPU. Even though some counters decreased their DPU, I am still on track with my KPI dividends [Heart][Applaud][Chuckle][Bless][love you][Happy][Smile]

Some stocks that could see their prices increase during the 2024 summer Olympics event:

    - $Alphabet(GOOG)$: Alphabet generates a substantial portion of its revenue from advertising, including Google Ads and Google AdSense businesses.
    - $Alibaba(BABA)$: Alibaba has been one of the worldwide partners of the Olympic games since 2017 and has helped in the implementation of Olympic Agenda 2020+5.
    - $Visa(V)$: Visa has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since 1986, the exclusive payment technology partner, and will be the only card accepted at the Games through 2032.

These companies have been associated with the Olympic Games for many years and have made a name for themselves. They tend to gain from the Olympic Games due to higher visibility and sales from the games.
