Wall Street was suffered a sharp sell-off on Friday, when Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s short and blunt remarks in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, appeared to extinguish hopes of the central bank changing its aggressive course of rate hikes in the months ahead.

The Dow fell over 3%, for its worst day since May. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell 3.4% and 3.9%, respectively, for their worst days since June. The drop erased the August gains for all three averages. The coming week brings more Fed speeches, including Vice Chair Lael Brainard on Tuesday, before August’s nonfarm payrolls report on Friday.

I would like to invite you to share your thoughts about $S&P 500(.SPX)$ and your prediction of its closing price.

Ever since last Friday when Jerome Powell gave his speech on the Feds' commitment to control inflation, the US markets have been finishing lower.

On the last day of August, S&P500 Index closed down 1.1% to 3986.16.  S&P500 's 11 sectors were all in the red. This is the largest percentage loss since mid June.

Jerome Powell' s speech has caused investors ' sentiments to turn negative.  This will certainly impact the market performance going into September.  September is well known as the worst month for the markets historically.

However the good news is some quality stocks maybe screaming buys and this is the best time to bargain hunt.

I predict the S&P500 Index to close down on Friday to 3800 - 3900 range.

Like please//@BryanNlk:follow//@TigerEvents:The three major averages are likely to end the week lower after slumping in the last days of August, marking their third consecutive negative week. Stocks have been weighed down by hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials signaling that interest rate hikes aren’t going away anytime soon. The market is now looking forward to the release of the August jobs report, which will provide additional information about the economic situation. Whether stocks will retest the June lows or reverse their downward trend.

The S&P 500 Index fell 3.4% on Friday. With rates likely to stay higher for longer, there is limited upside for the S&P 500 in the near-term.

    i guess Bearish because

    1) Fridays are known to be beaten down day due to Options.

    2) This Friday is already September.. [Pitiful]

    3) FED obviously don't want to see market in Green [Drowsy]

think it will bearish due to hangover to Powell's speech. September are known for red markets. Thinking of below 4000 for closing on 02/09, maybe 3975?

If Fed is done with hiking interest rates & inflation has truly peaked, there is hope that U.S. economy can reverse course & skirt any sort of recession. thus, save corporate earnings from a decline.

SPX broke support at 4086 - 38.2% Fib
    Its heading for 3915 - 23.6% Fib
On Fri, SPX might bounce of this support and hang there until Sep CPI and rate hike is done before confirming next trend movement

Bearish since Powell speech and their confirmation on agressive move to keep prices stable.
August gains eased off from Last friday and current general premarket seems to continue falling in red.

Powell will pivot after the markets move far lower & inflation subsides. If there is a premature turn, it because the economy performs extremely badly relative to even their pessimistic expectations.

Voted Bearish. Friday will close in red likley stay just above 3900. 5th Sept Monday is a holiday in the state - no trading, thus traders will likley pull their funds out from this long weekend.

The outlook for higher inflation & lower growth has put the Fed in a tough spot, but the central bankers reaffirm their key focus remains anchoring inflation by rapidly raising the fed funds rate.

Powell sent a short & direct message that there won’t be a Fed pivot anytime soon. And that has markets positioned for further equity weakness. Premature loosening won’t be happening soon
