Better Chip Stock: Arm Holdings vs. Intel

Which of these semiconductor titans is the better investment right now? $Intel(INTC)$ 's worst mistake in recent history was its failure to make the technological leap from personal computer CPUs to mobile CPUs. It flopped because the British chip designer $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$ licensed more power-efficient designs to chipmakers like Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple.Intel (which divested its own Arm-based chip unit in 2006 and actually rejected Apple's offer to produce the CPUs for the first iPhone) thought it could conquer the mobile market with more power-efficient versions of its x86 CPUs. But it was dead wrong, and Arm-based chips now power over 95% of the world's smartphones.Arm recently went public ag

ARM IPO Update: Why I’m Still Cautious Despite Recent Price Drop

The ARM IPO has been a rollercoaster ride since its debut, with shares reaching record highs and lows in a matter of days. As an investor, I’ve been closely watching this tech giant’s stock, but despite its recent drop below the IPO price, I remain cautious about jumping in. In this article, I’ll explain why I believe ARM still has some room to fall before becoming an attractive investment opportunity. $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$  1. ARM Maybe in the Declining Cycle

$ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$ Retail investors are going to get smoked if they buy at this level. Can’t wait to buy puts that expire this December. Those $30 strikes will be way in the money by then. The short play is worth millions and so far it's millions in the bank as we watch for the $40's to engage. The program was well served and WS has no option but to watch the erosion continue. Chippers are in sell mode. The history prove it. Down again. Intel down 5% yesterday on possitive AI news. AI doesn’t make enough money and we are headed for global recession. inflation still a problem. buy bonds or become a short ;)

According to Wikipedia SofTANK had $160.3 Million tied up in the WebVan collapse. Most of anyone in the 2nd round there almost half the whole enchilada lost. The year afta their substantial positions in Buy.Com and PeoplePC both went to absolute zero. $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$ It's valued at a multiple similar to Amazon at these prices....massively overvalued because no IPOs in a long time and ppl were excited for a new name / volatility conduit...There is no top line growth, the entire IPO is only 10% of the float, and it is released by SoftBank famous for other massive flops like WeWork...The fair value for little to no growth is 20x max and this is priced at 100x. Fair value is in the $10-$20 range and we should see those levels in 6-12 months tim

Why I'm Cautious About Investing in ARM's IPO

The much-anticipated IPO of chip design firm Arm has arrived. Illustration shows Arm Ltd logo The excitement around $Arm Holdings(ARM)$'s upcoming initial public offering (IPO) is undeniable, but I find myself taking a more cautious stance. While the company's potential is undeniable, history has shown that many major IPOs struggle to outperform the S&P 500 in the long run. The reason for my hesitation in discussing this until now, despite the growing excitement, is that I believe entering this stock immediately following its IPO might be premature. The top 10 U.S. IPOs from the past four years have averaged a 47% drop from their first-day closing prices, per LSEG data, with investors buying at intra-day peaks seeing a 53% loss on average. It's

CPI + PPI + IPO + Quad Witching Day

Wednesday: Stocks closed mixed as traders digested the August inflation data, which came roughly in line with expectations. In line with expectations, the headline consumer prices index surged up 0.6% month-over-month, with higher energy prices contributing to much of the upside. Core consumer prices climbed 0.3%, slightly higher than the 0.2% uptick expected by economists. The annual rate of core consumer prices cooled off from 4.7% in July to 4.3% in August. There has been no change in expectations for a Fed pause next week, said fund manager Louis Navellier. “If anything, the market seems to be relieved that the bonds are not trading down, as it’s pretty clear that getting inflation down to the Fed’s 2% target is going to be tough sledding,” he said. For now, the key is earnings, said

      ARM’s IPO: A Sky-High Debut and a Patient Investor’s Strategy

$Arm Holdings(ARM)$ The recent IPO of ARM made waves in the investment world, with shares closing at $63.59 on the first day of trading—a remarkable 20% surge from its initial offering price. While this performance may have been exhilarating for some, I’ve chosen a more measured approach to this hotly anticipated debut. 1. A Red-Hot Debut ARM’s IPO was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events in the tech world. The stock market can be a theater of surprises, but the fact that ARM witnessed a 20% jump on its first day of trading was not one of them. The enthusiasm surrounding ARM has been palpable, but as a cautious investor, I believe that an IPO frenzy should never be the sole driver of investment decisions. 2. Valuation at a Crossroads

Despite the high valuation, Arm is still getting money rush, and there are rumors that the company has been six times oversubscribed. A high valuation combined with myriad risks makes the hot new IPO a no-go.Initial public offerings, or IPOs, can generate a lot of excitement, especially when there hasn't been a public offering in a long time. And last week's debut of $ARM Holdings Ltd(ARM)$ had that in spades. After launching at $51 per share on Thursday, amounting to around a $53 billion market cap, Arm rocketed on its first day of trading. And while Friday saw a sell-off -- true across the entire tech sector -- the stock still finished the week 19% higher. However, buying an IPO can be pretty risky. After all, when a company goes public, existing shareholders are cashing out, meaning both the company and its investment bankers have incentives to market the company to public shar

The ARM IPO - Opportunistic Timing For A Rich Valuation Even if you don’t know what ARM is, you likely use an ARM-based chip. ARM is a semiconductor company, offering chip architecture designs for companies to use in their products. Similar to Intel, ARM designed a chip architecture. Unlike Intel's CISC, or 'Complex Instruction Set Computer' design, ARM CPUs were built on a RISC architecture, or 'Reduced Instruction Set Computer'. ARM stands for ‘Advanced RISC Machine’. ARM’s architecture was characterized by its simplicity and efficiency. While most chips were focused on packing more and smaller transistors into the core, ARM CPUs gloated the opposite: the same performance with fewer transistors. This meant better energy efficiency and cheaper cost of ownership. This advantage wasn’t enou
