I am kinda proud my portfolio managed to outperform$SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$  both bear and bull period, making it 71% better than it and with a fairly low volatility rate. I am still fine tuning my algorithm, adding/removing economic factors and their weights, hopefully to maintain and achieve better sharpe ratio.[Yummy]   I have recently accepted the invitation by tiger to share my trading details. I would share more on the what and how when there are more followers. ;)

Look forward or reflect on the past? Both are equally important to me in trading. It's really essential to reflect on the past so that we can learn from our experiences, avoid the similar mistakes paid to the market. This allows us to be more disciplined in our future trade, by not giving money to the market through unnecessary mistakes, again and again. However, in parallel, we need to move and look forward as well. No point to keep signing or disappointing about the past mistakes, make it a lesson learnt and move forward. Investment Reflection on Additional Investment in WYNN Stock

My decision to make an additional investment in WYNN $Wynn(WYNN)$  stock was supported by the key reasons as follows: 1. Macau Market Rebound:  The faster-than-expected recovery in Macau is particularly significant. Given the historical importance of Macau to Wynn's revenue, a strong rebound here can drive substantial financial improvement. 2. Resilient Domestic Performance:  The strength observed in Las Vegas and the solid performance at Encore Boston Harbor suggest that Wynn Resorts is effectively navigating the domestic market, which provides a stable foundation amid global uncertainties. 3. Attractive Valuation:  Trading at a multiple significantly below its historical average, WYNN offers an attracti

Investment Reflection on Additional Investment in GOOG Stock

Background and Context Recently, I decided to increase my investment in Alphabet Inc. $Alphabet(GOOG)$   stock. This decision was influenced significantly by the potential acquisition of HubSpot, a U.S.-based marketing software company with a market value of $31 billion. This acquisition could profoundly impact Alphabet's competitive positioning, particularly against Microsoft, in the cloud-based applications and business solutions sector. Strategic Implications of the Acquisition Enhanced Competitive Position: Alphabet's potential acquisition of HubSpot would be a strategic move to bolster its offerings in the cloud-based application market. Currently, Google is vying with Microsoft in this domain through its Google Workspace coll

Look Forward vs. Reflect on the Past: Trading Principles

"Look forward vs Reflect on the past" is a dichotomy often encountered in trading principles. While reflecting on past performance can offer valuable insights and lessons, looking forward is equally essential for adapting strategies and seizing new opportunities. Have you ever pondered the purpose of your investments? Is it for financial freedom or the luxury of passive income while lounging at home? There's a saying: "Investing isn't about not working, but about doing what you truly love every day." This resonates deeply with me. I have a passion for mathematics and derive immense satisfaction from leveraging mathematical prowess to achieve results, particularly in the form of profits. While this ability can contribute value within large corporations, the sense of accomplishment feels som

[Back to the... Future? Past?] This is a good topic for me to do some self reflection as investing principles are just about like a science as it is an art. Back to the Past Life was a lot more simple then. Buy low, sell high. No Unit Trusts, ETFs, Forex, Meme stocks, crypto, e.t.c. You get it. The case against the past is legit. Past performance, is NEVER a guarantee for future success. The flip argument is equally convincing. History doesn't repeat itself but it certainly rhymes. The Yin and Yang of stock trading is: Always take a step back from the desire to make money and reflect on the past, look inwards before look forward diving into the market. This is the way for a better view to a good kill. Of course we reflect on our lising trades to understand what went wrong and avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future. Stock markets are forward-looking so have to do the same.

      Why TGT Treads Water

$Target(TGT)$ is feeling the pinch of inflation. Their recent earnings report showed a decline in sales and missed earnings expectations for the first time in months. This tells me that inflation is putting a strain on consumers, causing them to cut back on discretionary spending across the board. While Target attempts to compete with discount giants like $Wal-Mart(WMT)$, they're at a disadvantage. Unlike Walmart, with its 60% grocery sales base, Target relies more on discretionary categories like clothing and home goods. When inflation hits, these are the first areas where consumers tighten their belts. This dynamic hurts Target more than Walmart. Target is aware of the challenge and is taking action. Th

🎁Look Forward vs. Reflect on the Past: Your Trading Principles?

We all have our own trading principles when it comes to investments. Some people prefer to rely on past experiences for high winning rates. For example, they only buy stocks when they reach repeatedly tested support levels. Or they invest in companies that are widely recognized for having stable businesses and profits. This approach sounds good but can also have its drawbacks. These investors might become overly reliant on past experiences, making it difficult for them to catch up with new market trends. Some people prefer to look forward and are able to spot new trading opportunities.Riding the wave of market trends can certainly be profitable, but it also risks falling into the trap of excessive speculation and bubbles.Everyone is discussing whether to invest in AI companies, or in
