What if you had $10k to invest? Hypothetical portfolio analysis

Suppose if I had only US$10,000 to invest, what stocks would I pick? Well we could just easily say that we choose only the Magnificent Seven (M7). However that would mean that our stocks are heavily concentrated in technology, communication services and consumer discretionary and would result in a highly unbalanced portfolio that might leave us to quite some downside risk should the market crash, as most of these stocks have similar correlations in price movements.

The BIGGEST highlight for me in 2023 was to use 🐯 Auto-Invest feature. There were a few stocks & ETFs I was interested in but didn’t have ⏰ to follow the price movements closely so I put them on a daily auto-invest plan after much research. These are how my auto-invest have been performing from highest to lowest profitability😉 The thing to celebrate about is that all my 5 auto-invest plans are in the green🥳🥳🥳

For me, I'm generally taking a buy and hold approach. Hence, I don't realize any gains or loss. Some people may ask why don't I take profit? It's because I'm mostly wrong when I tried to time the market and I strongly believe that the stock price will go even higher over time, hence there's no need to worry about the short-term fluctuations.

In the last trading day before the New Year's Day, it is finally time for the end of the transaction in 2023. Looking back on the trading of Hong Kong and US stocks in the past year, the number of individual shots is not too many, and the frequency of transactions is low, especially in the overall downturn in the Hong Kong stock market. In the Hong Kong stock market, the targets I have traded more this year are$XIAOMI-W(01810)$ $Li Auto(LI)$ etc.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing. With hindsight, everything seems easy. I would love to say that if I had known, I would sell all my loss making small mining companies  and get into crypto-based speculation, including bitcoin, MicroStrategy and especially Coinbase Global at the beginning of the year.
