When and How to Bottom Out Tesla and Apple During this Downtrend?

Recent events have rocked the shares of tech giants $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ and $Apple(AAPL)$ .

  • Tesla faced a production halt due to a fire near its Gigafactory in Berlin, causing a 4% decline in shares.

  • Apple's iPhone sales decline of 24% in China led to a 2.8% drop in its shares.

Investors are wondering when these stocks will hit bottom and how to trade.

$165 and $160 are two key support levels of Apple. The market generally believes Apple might pull back to $160 in this wave.

$175 and $150 are two key support levels of Tesla.

How to profit from two giants’ decline?

1. Buy Put: Profit from Premiums

If you already hold the two stocks, you can purchase put options to provide downside protection.

In the event of a pullback, the value of the put options would increase, offsetting some of the losses on the stock positions.

Striking price: you can choose the current price or the price around support levels.

2. Sell Put: Profit from Bottoming out Shares

Different from profiting the premium increase of put options, Sell Put helps you bottom out shares at a desired level.

Striking Price: you can choose the price around the support levels (or your desired price). For example, you can sell put of $Apple(AAPL)$ with a strike price of $160.

It should be noticed that you should have enough margin for selling puts.

Will you bottom out the two giants?

At what price?

Not interested in tesla. Only will eye apple but will buy when price less than $160 or $150. Prefer not to do options and patiently wait for price point

$Apple(AAPL)$ & $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ these 2 stocks may have become a thing of the past... their glory days may have been over... seems like they are trying to survive in this competitive world...

lost their sparks... lost their magic... not seeing the passion...

hope they will come up with something "magical" to be the "leader" in their industry...

Time to Sell Put to profit from bottoming out stock $Apple(AAPL)$ with a strike price of $160. Share price of $Apple(AAPL)$ would pull back to $160, a key support level.

If to choose, personally I will prefer $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ over $Apple(AAPL)$. Tesla is having issue right now especially due to the EV price war that affects its profit margin. Also, Tesla also doesn't have a new model that can attract more buyers. The existing models already been in the market for years, causing loss of interest from new buyers as there are much better and cheaper choices with better design in the market. I believe with Tesla innovation and technology, it will comeback when the timing is there and the price war is ended. For such, I plan to collect Tesla at current level and further more when it reaches the 150 dollars region. My strategy will be dollar cost averaging method.

Not doing options & US stocks at the moments. I m focusing on my SG dividend stocks. Yesterday i was so closed in securing 2 SG counters. [Sad][Cry]

Just when i want to add more $UNITED OVERSEAS BANK LIMITED(U11.SI)$ using my SRS fund, i realised i might run into some issue when i reach my retirement age, transfer to CDP and my 10 years 50% tax withdrawal. Now i m waiting for the bank to get back to me with more clear indication before i go UOB hunting again with SRS fund.
