because to fight and control inflationary pressure Singapore has to strengthen our sing dollar such that our imports can become cheaper but on the other hand sing dollar cannot be too overvalued otherwise our exports will become too expensive and others may not purchase from us . it's a delicate balance

🌟🌟🌟The correct answer is Monetary Policy. Monetary Policy is the action taken by the MAS to help control high inflation. Fiscal Policy refers to the tax and spending policies of the state government which is PAP.
Singapore has fared better than many countries due to the prudent policy of our government. Nonetheless we are a small country and not immune to the macro headwinds such as slowing global economy, high inflation, rising interest rates from the US.
Our $ES3(ES3.SI)$ which tracks the Straits Times Index of the Top 30 largest companies in Singapore actually went up 3.9% in the past year compared to $SPY(SPY)$ which dropped 13%.
