Just keep investing. if you focus on long term, it's an opportunity to acumulate with cheaper price. Need to be patiently invest. Don't overreact because of the market go up and go down. It give us better margin of safety and some undervalued stocks. Especially in REIT sector
๐October = Opportunity๐ OCTportunity for the DCA investors who also consider market timing in OCTOBER. I believe market timing can go hand-in-hand with regular DCA investment approach. REITS has been on my top SGX watchlist since H2 '2023. I am picky on individual REITS, although I am also DCA'ing into REITS ETFs, such as CLR (Lion Phillip S-REIT) and SRT (CSOP iEdge S-REIT), especially since ETFs can be traded in just 1 unit size since 17 Jan 2022. My favourite REITS brand names are CapitaLand, Mapletree, and Frasers. During October, I see some good investment opportunities upon price weaknesses in the SGX REITS market, hence "timed the market" and added some positions into: (1) CapitaLand Ascendas REIT My targeted entry point: When dividend yield >6%, Gearing < 38%. (2) Mapletree
I would like to use one word โdefeatโ to summarize my portfolio in October 2023. It was the worst performance of my portfolio since I joined Tiger Broker in May 2021. My portfolio has improved with the good news from Federal Reserve that itโs holding interest rates steady following its Oct. 31 โ Nov. 1 meeting, leaving the federal funds rate at a target range of 5.25 to 5.5 percent. Itโs the third time in the last four meetings that the Fed has held rates steady, though the central bank has raised rates a total of 11 times during this economic cycle in an effort to tamp down high inflation.. Hopefully by the early 2024, all the stocks in my portfolio will turn green.
One word : NOTHING! A very boring October as the market plunges in a fast speed. Just like the name October itself, which got the most alphabet "0" among the 12 months in a year. 0 signifies zero, nothing [Cool] [Cool] [Cool] So, let's look why I describe my October as "Nothing" or "Zero"? A few points to justify it : 1. Zero profit - Since early October, I got zero profit in my portfolio, the stocks retraced almost everyday and most of my holdings hit the cut loss target. 2. Zero holdings - The condition got worse when the market continued to pullback endlessly. This triggered the stop loss of all my holdings until I got zero position in my portfolio. 3. Zero technical signal - Over the weekend, I will screen some potential stocks for new
Mesmerising From the decline in Aug 23 and seeing all my positions in red and its rally in Nov 23 is indeed mesmerising. Hold on to your positions guys, hope this rally will last until early 2024 when the Feds cut interest rate (Hopefully?!?)
"Seesaw" is the one word I would use to describe the month of October. My portfolio basically moves up and down, swinging between green and red. The end of October brings my portfolio back to where it has started. So I have a nothing to see, nothing to cry about month... I have no complaints for the peace...

Patience! We have seen the US stock market correcting over the last few months with no year end rally in sight. This can be pretty daunting as your portfolio value continues to diminish, but it can offer an entry or opportunity to load up more shares of fundamentally strong companies. It's "shopping spree" ! Or you could say catching the falling knife [LOL] Although $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ continued to drop but as long as the business is still going strong, hopefully the price with go back up๐ค
