$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ There is nothing great about Tesla anymore. The super charger team fired. Designs are stagnant past several years. No notable efficiency improvements. Heartless unsympathetic genius running the company on his mis-wired brain and trillions solely resting on his shoulders. For political reasons he wasted (not invested) billions into Twitter a non-money making business. All those who dedicate and go above and beyond their normal call of duty for years are let go overnight without any empathy. And these EVs are not that significantly contributing to environment when you consider lithium processing and battery recycling. We are only fueling this ego monster. This could be partly political (and I'd place the Arizona expansion here--I doubt TSM would have selected the US Southwest to expand manufacturing without significant financial help from the US Gov't and political pressure from that same Gov't), and partly insurance (nice to have alternatives with the "People's Army" staring at you). Learnings and conclusions from this session: $S&P 500(.SPX)$ $SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ The May-Oct period tends to see lower, more volatile returns.However only bear markets tend to see *negative* returns.The Nov-Apr period tends to see higher returns.The Sell-in-May effect is cyclical/changing.The return spread is shrinking over time.Overall, there’s a bunch of nuance and caveats to the worn-out old saying of “Sell-in-May” (which is by the way a shortened version of “Sell in May and go away, come back on St. Leger's Day”). They report debt forgiveness as operating income and this quarter a 75 million dollar gain from ROOT stock warrants. They still can not sell vehicles for a profit!!! Negatie cash flow. $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ As long as we’re being honest a very large portion of AMD’s “accelerator” revenue is coming from el captain. That means their AI sales conversion is about on par with Intel’s Gaudi who was supply constrained until now. Intel likely to hit $1 billion in AI sales while AMD may hit $2.5 billion ex el captain. However, if you read between the lines you know the slow sales are due to the chips being “unstable” and the lack of software. There is no AI story here…let’s move along.
