I closed 1 lot(s) $AMD 20240503 170.0 CALL$  ,This is a great example of benefiting from IV crush. This contract was sold just about 1 weeks ago, IV was high due to the earning report being on the same week of the contract expiration. At the time when this contract was sold, the stock price was at 157.75, with a strike of $170 premium collected was $245. Due to underwhelming earning reports, AMD stock fell 10 over percentage and along with the IV crush after earnings, this contract was almost rendered worthless,

I closed $SOFI 20240503 7.0 PUT$  ,SoFI: collected 4.55% premium when hold this options till expiry but in the money. Bought in SoFi at $7 as part of getting assigned after the covered puts I sold went into the money and expired on 3rd May. SoFi closed at $6.96 at closing and I was ok with it. For weeks I’ve been selling SoFi at support $7 and this week it finally went as low as $6.61 before ending at $6.96 at closing. I’ve collected $0.36 premium from the options so $0.04 in the money meant I’m still profitable for $0.32 which translate to 4.55% premium collection over 25 days. Will turn to sell covered call on these newly acquired stocks. Earnings on 29th April were good, company was profitable for the 2nd Quarter in a ro

I closed $VLO 20240503 190.0 CALL$  ,VLO: this is the 2nd leg buy call for protection that expired worthless and loss all the premiums. Overall collected full premium on Valero Energy Bear call at $185/$190 strikes. With $63 collected over max $500 risk per contract, the ROI is 12.5% over 18 days. For the chart, VLO came off its top at around $185 and it’s already down about 15% reflecting correctly on this trade. Oil prices had came off a fair bit and oil companies would reflect similar situation. Glad this trade turned out profitable.

$NIO Inc.(NIO)$ By the end of next year (2025), NIO has given a lot of forward guidance about their plans. NIO has plans to be in 25 countries (not sure that they will be able to get there, but fingers crossed), and have 5,000 battery swap stations (4,000 in China, and 1,000 throughout Europe). They will legitimately have products that sell from $15,000 USD, through $130,000 USD if you add some features to the iconic ET9.Since NIO has plans to have BaaS (battery swapping as a service) in the lower priced cars, this will greatly appeal to the 94% of the people in China who live in apartments in China's big cities. $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ I love TSM but don't expect an Nvidia level boom. 4 reasons1) It is a manufacturer vs designer. The profit margins are lower than Nvidia and AMD who are fabless (think of all the people, equipment involved)2) Related to 1, the company always has to re-invest huge sums of money in R&D and equipment to stay on the leading edge and make smaller nodes. Just look at how much of their operating profit they re-invest into this.3) Geo-political tensions. This has been a looming axe for decades and will remain so for a while -- enough to make many big investors vary of pouring too much capital into the stock4) It is non-American. My Watchlist [91]: SPY... May'24 Update.

Hi everyone! Been away for a while as I’ve been on a break. Here’s an update on the most-watched ETF: SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (ARCA: SPY) After watching SPY’s price action for several weeks, I am now of the opinion that SPY is merely repeating July 2023’s 3-month pullback fractal, which gives me a final price target of 453.52 for the downside over the next few months. However, why is the price action similar? If you draw a trendline, you’ll notice a resistance trendline that has resulted in lower highs and lower lows. We’ve just broken above this resistance trendline as seen above. The July 2023 pullback also had similar price action at the start. We’re also trading in a bearish ascending channel pattern that is forming higher highs and lows, similar to the July 2023 pullback. The nex

Trading Strategies: .SPX, META& NVDA

Hello everyone! Today I want to share some trading strategies with you! Hope it can help you!1.Anyone that tells you that turning a $500 into $100K is simple are lying. Trading is a way to generate income and wealth but it takes years to develop into a consistently profitable trader. The first thing you need to figure out is what kind of trading style suits your risk profile first then identify setups that align with that strategy. I've made millions from trading but I've never told anyone trading is easy. It's a grind.. But guess what? Everything is a grind. You just have to choose which path you want to take and commit to it.2. $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ Trade Idea: May 10 910C 💡 Trigger: Above 885 📈 Target: 919 🎯 Stop: 877 🛑 NVDA through 900 can test

Inflows into SRT & CLR reach 19-month high in April

Investing in exchange-traded funds (ETF) has become increasingly popular as it provides instant diversification into a basket of securities, transparency and tradability, as well as lower fees and transaction costs. This is probably why the ETF industry exceeded US$11 trillion in global assets under management (AUM) in 2023, after growing 24% year on year since the end of 2022, according to data from ETFGI.In Asia-Pacific ex-Japan, the ETF industry saw a larger increase, with AUM growing 35% to over US$780 trillion at the end of 2023. In Singapore, retail and institutional clients have also seen ETF adoption grow with AUM almost doubling in the past four years.Much of this increase was driven by the growth in the usage of ETFs as an SRS (Supplementary Retirement Scheme) portfolio construct

Weekly: Does the “sell-in-May” still work?

Last Week's RecapThe US Market - All major indexes rallied after a deep pullback in AprilThe major indexes started May with a winning week after a deep pullback in April. Friday's weaker-than-expected jobs report bolstered a relatively dovish Fed chief Jerome Powell on Wednesday.Strong quarterly reports from major Dow components also contributed to the week's rally. Particularly Apple, which is up 6% after the company announced a $110 billion share repurchase and a better-than-expected profit. Biotech stock Amgen surged nearly 12% after posting better-than-expected earnings and offering a positive update on an experimental obesity drug.Nonfarm payrolls report showed 175,000 jobs gained in April, below the expectations for 240,000. The unemployment rate edged up to 3.9%, versus 3.8% in the
