MBTI Series: Are You E or I in Stock Trading?

The MBTI test has been incredibly popular in recent years. Instead of asking about zodiac sign, people now ask about your MBTI type.

One of the most well-known concepts is E and I, representing Extrovert and Introvert, respectively.

To quickly determine if you're an E or I, think about whether you prefer socializing with others or prefer being alone.

In stock trading, are you more inclined to explore and discover new stocks and companies, or do you prefer repeatedly trading a few familiar stocks?

If you hold more than 10 different stocks, you may belong to the E type in the stock market.

If you hold less than 5 stocks, and only trade stocks that you are familiar with, you might belong to I type in stock trading.

Do you have more explanations about e and I in stock trading?

Which type do you belong to?

Dont think E or I explains how many stocks one have. ‘I’s may have more stocks than ‘E’s if they think more and study more about stocks instead of socialising? I think it boils down to beliefs, goals and whether have study to study stocks. @Kaixiang @Success88 @HelenJanet @rL @AliceSam @SR050321 @SPOT_ON @Fenger1188 @DiAngel @Universe宇宙 come join

    I think it's a combination of both.

sometimes having both can be a good thing as it's like, trade with caution and not aggressively yet there's still some risks involved and sometimes risk has to be taken.

there are also risks as in performance of stock, how the market swings, etc...

would I be considered to have multiple personality disorder if I have a portfolio of core & satellite stocks?

my introverted core portfolio consists of a few low cost ETF that are set to auto invest consistently. $Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF(QQQM)$ $SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 ETF(SPLG)$ & recently added $iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF(TLT)$

while my satellite assets are a mix of consumer cyclical, a couple of mag 7, energy, crypto, dividend stocks... very flamboyantly extroverted!

I am an E => Extrovert in stock trading - incline to explore and disciver new stocks and companies. I have way many more than 5 stocks, from more than two markets. I actually want to be an I => Introvert trader that hold less than five stocks. 5 big winning stocks beats running around the bushes chasing after so many sticks from different countries!

    谢谢 @Tiger_comments 精彩分享👍🏻👍🏻。

I'm the E type in stock trading. It is for diversification to reduce risk. On the other hand, I type trading can provide a higher return for the right few holdings.

I would classify myself as a combination of E & I as i hold more than 10 SG stocks and more than 5 US stocks.

Depends on situation, i might trade on familiar stock or go for new ones. Familiar stock when I need to average the cost whereas new stock are for diversification.

This year i m hungry for dividends. Thus, i am adding new members to my SG family. So far, i only managed to add 1. I hope to achieve another 3-5 more [Bless][Bless][Bless]🙏🙏🙏

I have done MBTI at my workplace a few years ago and it says I'm an extroverted introvert.

When it comes to stock trading, I am more of an introvert because I don't really share my stock trading status with people I meet in real life, but I try to share more on $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$.

With regards to stock trading mentality, I think we should be looking more at I and P rather than E and I. In this case, I am more of a P, since I'm not exactly rational especially when I'm in the red. Like most traders, I set loss limits but can't seem to force myself to press the button.

Also taking the opportunity to wish everyone Happy Lunar New Year!! [Heart]

Also sharing the counters I have recently commented on, you can find them on my page. $Synchronoss Technologies, Inc.(SNCR)$ $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$ $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$ $Grayscale Bitcoin Trust(GBTC)$

I prefer to repeatedly trade stocks that I am familiar with and I hold more than 10 different stocks. Therefore, I belong to half of E type and half of I type in the stock market.

Well i will find myself having both I&E characteristics. Perhaps an Omnivert or Ambivert? MBTI is interesting. It can change a little in tome. Most importantly is to learn how to play according to your strengths. Stay wise Tigers! [Grin]

E for Eclectic range of stock. Mainly diverse across a few sectors. Heavy in tech of course. That's me.
But not too many .. if not might as well buy the index.

I hold few stocks, so maybe 'I' in this analogy. ‍However, MBTI for trading feels simplistic. That said, still open to the test or models for informed decisions!

Not sure holding no of stocks is a good measure to determine E or I personality ❗😂
This is my 1st encounter on such claim ❗
Holding the no of stocks is deemed to be a strategy of individual to invest in what you know best & nothing to do with E or I.
Please help to provide the name or the book or the reference of the psychologist who proposed such insights view on E or I for all to dig deeper ❓😲

I have more than 10 stocks in my portfolio but I don't think it's correlated with me being E or I. It's more about risk management.
