What Feature Do You Expect Most From Microsoft Copilot?

Microsoft yesterday unveiled its Office software's latest progress: Microsoft 365 Copilot, which is powered by OpenAI's GPT language model.

As a result, $Microsoft(MSFT)$ rose 4% yesterday.

This launch has once again shocked the world, as Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Viva, Power Platform, and all other office software are now powered by GPT-4, enabling us to easily use AI tools through the most common interface and natural language.

Microsoft CEO Nadella said that

today marks a milestone and signifies a new era in our interaction with computers. From now on, our work style will be forever changed, ushering in a new era of productivity.

How does Microsoft 365 is innovated by GPT-4?

Microsoft's Microsoft 365 Copilot fully integrates Word, Excel, PPT, Microsoft Graph, and GPT-4, making all software interconnected, and GPT-4 omnipresent.

1. Word - write articles and revise texts like ChatGPT

In Word, Copilot can help write articles, revise texts, and summarize documents based on a short prompt, even incorporating information from across the organization as needed.

Copilot can also provide various suggestions regarding tone, whether it be professional, enthusiastic, or casual, and can improve writing by suggesting ways to strengthen arguments or eliminate inconsistencies.

from Microsoft

2. Excel - generate tables and SWOT analysis automatically

Copilot can generate clear tables and perform any data processing in just a few seconds. It can also provide helpful suggestions based on data analysis.

With Copilot, you don't need to know/undestand formulas. It will instantly create SWOT analysis, or various pivot tables based on this data.

3. Create a PowerPoint automatically

Users can tell Copilot their ideas, and it will automatically create a beautiful set of slides for them.

If users have ready-made materials, they only need to lightly tap Copilot, and it will create a powerpoint based on their Word document automatically.

Microsoft 365 Copilot revolutionizes office work by making AI tools accessible through the most common interface and natural language, increasing productivity and streamlining work processes across all Office software.

Will Microsoft become the winner of AI battle?

What's your view towards the new features of 365 products?

Those features from $Microsoft(MSFT)$  Copilot are already expected given that many companies have integrated AI into their software, as well as hardware.

The expectations in the near future should be all the work done by AI, while human just need to eat, drink and sleep.

Also, money is no longer needed as AI will help manage food supply, build houses and maintain peace. There is no need to deposit money or invest money in banks such as $Silvergate Capital(SI)$  $Signature Bank(SBNY)$  $SVB Financial Group(SIVB)$  and many others that had fail the cities and disappoint many, because AI will do all the work.

So, what are your thoughts, my Tiger friends. Come and share yours today. [Cool]

excel is one the popular tools since it has the computational tools and not as hard as using the database tables. however, finding an exact formula for most widely used ones such as: lookup can be frustrating sometimes. thus, I recommend AI to analyze most used formula's pattern and have it ready when user type the first two-three first letters of the formula. I mean that's the use of the AI to analyze our habit to improve our efficiency, right?
as for the least used formula, don't do that and just link to the help file. that's because we don't want to have our screen filled every time we type something with the thing that we probably won't need anyway since it's too time consuming to close it and stressful. and that's the job of AI to avoid the users stress and decrease their productivity.
    how about your suggestions guys @Viv22 @LMSunshine @KYHBKO @Universe宇宙 @Tigress02 @kungpao @wine18 @cindyft @Xian789 @MTok

I would say, this is a major and significant move towards Wife spread A.I adoption. Given the market share Microsoft has with the commercial and government/military markets, gaining first mover advantage is critical at this juncture. Brilliant like the browser, search engines, social media wars.

I think $Microsoft(MSFT)$ had surpassed most of its competitors. No doubt it is the winner of AI battle after the announcement of ChatGPT. Plus this 365 Copilot, It will be very convenient for the company workers to do their analysis work and list (excel) , save time and energy! The features that I like the most is it can create a powerpoint based on work document, easy for us to create a presentation slide for the customer or audience.

In the era of OPENAI, a large number of simple, restorative, and especially medium-skilled jobs that require brains rather than brains will be replaced by AI, especially skilled jobs that require brains instead of brains.

$Microsoft(MSFT)$ has incorporated AI into existing tools to develop extremely essential use cases for corporate users. It is undisputed that Office365 is one of the most used apps at work, and with Copilot, productivity is expected to improved dramatically as it matures.
Imagine no longer having to write minutes, rush proposals within a short timeline, or even worry about conflicting meetings and missing out on key points discussed. Copilot will help alleviate all these concerns as it is literally your capable assistant at work.
My most favourite feature is the integration of Copilot to PowerPoint & Excel. Presentation of topics using PowerPoint is common at work, often time consuming for the team. The quick analysis and forecasting in Excel helps boost productivity esp when dealing with large amount of data.
Microsoft will continue to be a dominant leader in office productivity tools, mitigating the concerns of slowing growth in recent quarters

When i was working, i struggled with using excel.

I expect copilot to write perfect VBA macro for the user just by typing in simple instructions or by doing a sample of the process involved.

This would really save everyone a lot of time in crunching numbers/data and the time can be used for other areas.

Definitely a positive development for Microsoft to consolidate its already dominating position in workspace. Besides the usual, it has created Teams and Edge. Now it has incorporated GPT-4. No doubt the generative AI is another game changer and it is going to transform how we work and learn. I like the self-generated charts and presentation slides. But there is a problem here. What will happen to the next generation of humans? With more of these software enabled solutions, there is perhaps less motivation for teachers and students to learn the formula behind them. Just like the prevalence of computer, handwritten letters have become a dinosaur. Who ever bothers with perfecting the skills of writing? This concern of AI helping our daily tasks might appear insignificant now, I wonder if there is anyone even asking how to generate a simple graph from sketch two generations from now.

Agreed that evolution of AI is at the beginning stage. That's exactly why we need to quickly sort out the foundation, such as the legal rights and moral issues. AI when setup in a wrong way could be detrimental to our future generations.

The Copilot features on both Word and Excel sound the best.

Being able to generate engaging visuals and graphics from a huge chunk of numbers with a simple command will undoubtedly simplify our jobs a lot and allow us to quickly analyse them.

Regarding Copilot on Word, I feel like the feature of being able to summarise large chunks of text into simple, succinct sentences is extremely useful. It would be even better if Microsoft extends this feature to reading pdfs since most corporate documents are in that format.

As we've seen with the introduction of the new Bing and Edge, there will definitely be mistakes and critics. As Microsoft rolls this out, people must remember that it is a copilot, not an autopilot. It won't be perfect, nor should anyone expect it to be. With that said, I look forward to seeing how Microsoft helps its customers use their data-trained LLMs to make their organizations more intelligent and efficient.

Major software companies already have A.I. in their tools and applications which has helped companies. Microsoft should do more on their RPA with A.I., Microsoft Office is a daily productivity tools which is complementing other softwares. Do share your thoughts on RPA if you or your companies are using it.

I like the uniqueness of the tenant group data and think that's an advantage on many levels, including security and compliance. However, Microsoft has a challenge in educating customers that the copilot is trained on an organization’s or individual's data. This means that the experience will differ significantly from Bing, ChatGPT or other generative AI bots aimed at a mass audience. With that distinction in mind, Microsoft certainly has the potential to overcome concerns that have led to ChatGPT bans in companies like Amazon, Verizon and JPMorgan Chase.

There are features in 365 Copilot that Microsoft demoed in preview that I could see myself using on day one. That's not an easy thing to say about a technology that is transforming an industry. Other features seem a little further out; I can see people using them someday, but it will likely take a little longer for full adoption

Microsoft's newest Copilot is embedded into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and more, making it a companion that works alongside users in apps they already use every day. This integration makes complete sense; getting people to adopt new technology can be a chore, but putting a new technology next to something people already know and use—as a copilot—is a simple place to start.
