🎁Will Taylor Eras Tour Boost Singapore Tourism?

This Saturday, Taylor Swift's Eras tour will kick off in Singapore.

The Thai Prime Minister stated that

Singapore has provided sponsorship of up to $3 mln for Taylor's concert. Taylor will perform six concerts in Singapore, which means the sponsorship could amount to as much as $18 mln.

The high sponsorship fee also comes with a clause, which stipulates that Taylor Swift's global tour, apart from Singapore, cannot take place in any other Southeast Asian country.

If I had known earlier that exclusive performance rights could be purchased, I would have pushed Thailand to strive for it.

He estimates that Thailand might have to pay around 500 million Thai baht (approximately 19 million Singapore dollars) for this.

Many foreign fans will come to Singapore to attend the concert. A total of six concerts can bring huge profits to tourism activities such as hotels, retail, sightseeing, and dining.

Some say that it is a business opportunity that can boost the national economy.

Others comment that it won't truly improve people's livelihoods.

American pop star Taylor Swift has yet to arrive but the knock-on effects of her upcoming stop in Singapore are already being felt and are likely to be wide-ranging.

As reported, demand for flights and accommodation around the dates of Swift's concerts has increased up to 30 per cent. It is likely to generate significant benefits to the Singapore economy, especially to tourism activities such as hospitality, retail, travel and dining, as has happened in other cities in which Taylor Swift has performed. Until now, more than 300,000 tickets have been sold, with a "significant" number of fans travelling from other countries.

Demand for flights to Singapore on both Singapore Airlines and Scoot has increased in March, particularly from Southeast Asia. Moreover, hotels also have seen an uptick in demand.

I believe that hosting exclusive events offers invaluable branding opportunities whose impact can persist long after the concerts are over, significantly boosting Singapore's image as a vibrant, culturally rich destination. This is good for Singapore economy and there bullish for the following stocks $Genting Sing(G13.SI)$  $SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$  $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$  $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$  $SEMBCORP INDUSTRIES LTD(U96.SI)$  .Do you agree with me?

🇸🇬 Singapore pays Taylor Swift $18 million for 6 concerts with exclusive performance rights so that her present global tour cannot take place in any other Southeast Asian country. The tickets are currentsold out. Hopefully many foreign fans while attending the concerts, will bring huge profits to tourism activities such as hotels, retail, sightsee, and dining. Looks likely it is a business opportunity that can boost Singapore’s economy.

If each of the 300,000 ticket holding spend $1k in SGP, it generates $300 million sales for retail, hotels, F&B, etc. It is definitely a good deal for Singapore.

    Who cares what other think.
It's part of business and our team is very quick by negotiating Taylor to our market.
It's a win win situation for both Sg n Taylor and I don't see why there are reasons for all those bickering. The effects are tremendous for our tourist tickets n economy.

Taylor Era tours are being raised as one main driver for $AMC Entertainment(AMC)$ latest better financial results,  with the previous quarter (2022Q4), there has been an improvement in various metrics, such as the quick ratio, gross profit margin, and net profit margin.
Will this boost SG Tourism for local f&b and tourism biz, i can generally said a big Yes.. but not a long term.
Anyway enjoy bathe in the joy watching Taylor shows.! @Tiger_Earnings @Tiger_chat @Tiger_comments

I agree with the governments sponsorship fee
Taylor Swift's tour could potentially boost tourism income in Singapore, as her concerts tend to attract large crowds of fans from various countries. These fans may travel to Singapore specifically to attend her concerts, contributing to the local economy through spending on accommodations, dining, transportation, and other activities. Additionally, high-profile events like Swift's tour can generate publicity and media coverage for Singapore, further promoting the country as a tourist destination.
I would not personally attend a concert.

It definitely will. Even small business that are selling beads are profitting from it as fans are crazy in making friendship bracelets to be exchanged at the concert.

In addition, manicure services will also profit from it too as the fans will be crazy to paint their nails as according to her album colour. Pink for lover, Red for red, gold for fearless, black for reputation, beige for evermore, purple for speak now, dark blue for midnights, grey for folklore, teal for 1989 and bluish-green shade for Taylor Swift.

Hotels will benefit from it too as the fans need a place to sleep. Since they can afford the expensive ticket, i dont think they will cut cost by staying in budget hotel or hostel.

Today MBS announced that MBS from 28Feb to 13Mar will have Eras tour light and water show. Ticket admission is required even though it is FOC. Crowd controlled is required. Dont think they want another dragon drone event where it is so packed - packed like sardine.

Securing the only Southeast Asian stop for The Eras Tour could attract tourism and boost the local economy. Taylor Swift's immense popularity undoubtedly draws international fans.
