Mag 7 Hit Hard: Plan Dip Buying Amid Corrections?

Yesterday, $NASDAQ(.IXIC)$ fell by 1.95%; and $S&P 500(.SPX)$ dropped by 0.88%; $DJIA(.DJI)$ rose by 0.08%. The market finally experienced the anticipated/worrisome pullback.

Magnificent 7 hit hard.

$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ announced that the release of their Robotaxi will be delayed, plunging 8.44%.

Jim Covello, Head of Equity Research at Goldman Sachs, pointed out that the current AI bubble might be more severe than the internet bubble. $NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$’s decline led to a drop in the semiconductor sector, with $Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares(SOXL)$ closing down 9.6% yesterday.

How do you view market’s decline?

Some believe it's a healthy pullback:

If there isn't any correction, then it isn't a normal market.

We are 1% off all-time highs. Hardly even close to a 'dip.'

Some expect more corrections and consider bottom fishing later:

Dip buying here, will buy more if they pull back further. Long term trend still heavily favors big cap tech.

Please, please, please dip even more NVDA, don't be shy, I want to buy in bulk. It's like shopping at Costco but for stocks.

Are there other opportunities in the market now?

According to Bespoke Investment Group, this is the first time since October 10, 2008, that the Russell 2000 small-cap index $iShares Russell 2000 ETF(IWM)$ has risen over 3% while the S&P 500 large-cap index has declined. It's also the second time this has happened since 1979.

With easing inflation pressure and rising rate cut expectations, market funds are starting to reallocate. Investors are beginning to shift from large-cap tech stocks to sectors more sensitive to interest rates, such as small-cap stocks and biotech stocks.

Buying the dip during market correction is the right way to do, many people don’t dare to buy during dip is due to emotional fear that share price will drop further. When such events happens. t’s present great opportunities for mid term investors. Time horizon are critical and please trade with care.

a 10% dip should be coming sooner or later. It's good to hoard cash right now and wait for the dip to bottom fish

It is just normal pullback, not correction yet. Market is now riding on the euphoria of rate cuts. The party will go on unless the rate cut doesn’t come or there are major events such as the ward worsening or more surrounding nations being implicated in the wars. The US presidential might cause some swings but if a correction truly comes, it will be good to buy. For now, good to keep cash or do swing trades to ride the momentum and take some profit with the price changes.

whether corrections or pull back, constant investing is good per some financial advisers. better to not time the market but the time in the market. this is a phrase that I often heard...

The pressure of inflation has eased and the chance of rate cut in September has increased. The sharp market rotation out of big tech and into small caps could last a month. However, the long term trend still heavily favors big cap tech stocks with good fundamentals. Candi’s buy and buy more if they pull back further.

I am nervous when I observe these big tech insiders are selling the stocks on hands ❗
The insiders were laughing their way to the banks while retail traders n fund managers kept punting on these stocks. Herd mentality repeats when an irrational phenomenon happens. 😲

A week following the 11 July CPI report, the $iShares Russell 2000 ETF(IWM)$ has skyrocketed nearly 12%, exemplifying the small-cap index's heightened sensitivity to interest rate fluctuations. The market is now pricing in rate cut expectations, with leveraged instruments like the $Direxion Daily Small Cap Bull 3x Shares(TNA)$ experiencing substantial inflows as traders seek to capitalize on the momentum.

A pull back is good and healthy, it’s good for both the investors and the market, it allows consolidation and position to be ready for the next new height.
