Quantum Euphoria.

Quantum computing stocks have wrapped up the week ending 04 Oct 2025 with double-digit gains.

Shares of $Rigetti Computing(RGTI)$, $D-Wave Quantum Inc.(QBTS)$ and $Quantum Computing Inc.(QUBT)$ have surged more than +20%.

Since the start of 2025, RTGI (+119.48%) and QBTS (+271.7%) have more than doubled and tripled, respectively.

In just one week (04 Oct 2025), $Arqit Quantum Inc.(ARQQ)$ skyrocketed more than +32%. (see below)

Quantum Computing stocks - 2025 YTD performances

These are heady numbers that even rational investors should take to them, with a pinch of salt.

Quantum Catalysts.

The jump in shares followed a wave of positive news emanating from the quantum space.

More importantly, these different news are showcasing the power of quantum computing as :

• A viable processor that is able to improve productivity at work by leaps & bounds.

• A viable processor that makes business sense.

• That deserves to be nurtured by a venture capitalist funds.

• The future #1 processor that is up for grabs as currently - there is no clear cut leader yet.

Quantum Operations.

On 05 Oct 2025, QBTS and UK’s North Wales Police (NWP) successfully completed a joint proof-of-technology project using a hybrid-quantum application to optimize police vehicle placement. (see below)

The results - shaving response times by nearly -50% and reducing coordination planning to 4 minutes from what used to be 4 months effort.

Following the successful project, the UK Office of the Chief Scientific Adviser for Policing recognized it to be of national cross-government departmental interest with opportunity for future development and deployment.

Quantum Sales.

On 30 Sep 2025, RGTI said it had purchase orders totaling $5.7 million for 2 of its 9-qubit Novera quantum computing systems. (see below)

Although the buyers weren't named, RGTI did reveal that:

• One is an Asian manufacturing company.

• The other is a US AI startup.

Quantum Financial Products.

Separately on 02 Oct 2025, owner of drugmaker $Novo-Nordisk A/S(NVO)$ and the Danish government have invested 300 million euros in a quantum venture fund. (see below)

The new investment platform, 55 North, incubated and co-founded by NVO and EIFO (the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark), will manage the world’s largest venture capital fund focused exclusively on quantum technologies.

Around 75% of the fund will support European companies, with ¼ specifically targeting leading Nordic firms.

Remaining capital will be deployed to pursue selective opportunities worldwide, ensuring global reach while keeping a strong European center of gravity.

Across all geographies, the fund will back early-stage quantum companies.

Quantum #1 Leader.

On 9 Jun 2025, Maryland-based IonQ bought UK-based quantum computing startup Oxford Ionics in a roughly $1.1 billion deal.

Oxford Ionics’ specialty is pioneering a scalable quantum architecture that overcomes many limitations of existing trapped-ion methods.

This fits perfectly into IonQ’s vision of (a) practical, (b) large-scale quantum computing and (c) quantum networking.

What Else ?

Apart from pure play quantum companies like IONQ, RGTI, QBTS etc… the Magnificent 7 are also heavily invested in quantum computing.

This is why in 2025, investors have piled into these giants (eg. MSFT, NVDA, AMZN, IBM) as they have embraced the technology with a wave of new chip announcements, multimillion-dollar investments and research plans of their own.

In a blog post earlier in the week, Nvidia also highlighted accelerated computing, which it argues can make “quantum computing breakthroughs of today and tomorrow possible.”

Parting Thoughts.

Looking at RGTI and QBTS stocks movement on Tue, 07 Oct 2025 - don’t you agree that they mirror each other like twins ? Ha, ha, ha.

Early investors in RGTI and QBTS embody the spirit of the saying "the early bird catches the worm”.

It is a fact that they are not profitable yet.

Their strategic breakthroughs, significant government and private sector contracts signal enormous potential quantum computing holds. Are you game ?
